The fastest PC RAM no longer has to be soldered! PCs today include either SO-DIMM or Low-power DDR (LPDDR) RAM. The latter uses less power and reduces footprint while enhancing performance. But it isn't as modular and must be soldered onto the motherboard, making future upgrades or repairs impractical. With the introduction of the Low-power Compression Attached Memory Module (LPCAMM2), PC RAM has got its biggest upgrade in 25 years. In collaboration with Micron Technology, the new Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 is the world's first PC to deploy up to 64GB of LPCAMM2. The new memory form factor has also been adopted by the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association, making this an industry-standard, non-proprietary technology. 🔺Energy Efficient: LPCAMM2 consumes up to 61% less active power than traditional DDR5 memory. This directly translates to longer battery life for your laptop, so you can work for extended periods without needing to charge. 🔺Space Saving: LPCAMM2 provides up to 64% space savings compared to a dual SO-DIMM stack. This allowed us to re-design the P1 Gen 7 to be thinner and lighter than before, without sacrificing performance. With just a single module, LPCAMM2 can achieve dual-channel memory. It also has the same form factor and memory placements across densities. 🔺High Bandwidth: LPCAMM2 offers 1.5X higher bandwidth than traditional DDR5 memory, meaning data can move quickly between the memory and the processor, thereby reducing latency. This ensures smooth performance, especially when working simultaneously with large datasets or multiple complex applications, resulting in increased productivity. 🔺Modular: LPCAMM2 is user replaceable allowing for memory upgrades after initial purchase as needs and requirements change.
