And so close to a new moon that the stargazing will be fantastic! On July 4th at the High Sierra Ranger Station, the sun sets at 8:20pm with a waning crescent moon not rising until 4:04am and a very clear night! It doesn't get much better than that!

Retired 26 years service 4 National Forests from 3 California 1 Maine. Wildland Firefighters do so much to protect our Federal public lands thank you during these hot temperatures and other natural disasters. Thank you to all FS employees in whatever position you are in. 🌲
