Time to stop the manmade disaster in Sudan “The world’s worst, most complex and cruel crisis”, is unfolding in Sudan without making it into onto our prime-time news, according to UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. With nearly 9 million displaced within the country – half of them children – and almost 2 million refugees abroad, Sudan is indeed currently the largest displacement crisis in the world. And the worst is still to come: combat disrupted planting season in Sudan’s most fertile regions. In the humanitarian sector, every day brings a new crisis or disaster. One year on from the onset of the conflict in #Sudan, over 9.4 million people have been displaced, half of whom are children. In 2024, over 25 million are in need of humanitarian assistance; more than one-third of the country’s population is facing acute hunger and potential famine. In the midst of the world's largest internal displacement crisis, these figures serve as a sobering reminder to keep #eyesonsudan and to continue advocating for an immediate cessation of hostilities and additional funding to meet the needs of conflict-affected communities across the country.

Open the borders to Israel and immediately create temporary Blue Helmets/UN-peace-force controlled and UNHCR managed refugee facilities in Israel! Why? Most of Gaza, except Rafah, has meanwhile become uninhabitable, so there no longer is an option to internally relocate people. Israel has also continued stealing more Palestinian homes & farms EVERY YEAR as part of its brutal 57 year apartheid & has imposed a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005. Act now? So, Mr António Guterres, can we expect an no-fly zone to be imposed over occupied Palestine to prevent Israel fighter jets and death drones from firing missiles and dropping 2,000 ton bombs? Can we expect to see UN peacekeeping forces intervene to stop the massacre? Will we see an international arms embargo and sanctions imposed on the Zionist entity to stop its violations of international law? Will “Israel” be summarily expelled from membership in the UN in light of its persistent violations of international law and the UN charter, and since it refuses to cooperate with UN agencies and refuses entry to its officials? At the very least, will there be sanctions imposed to punish Zionist war criminals? Will the UN reinstate the designation of Zionism as a racist, genocidal ideology as it was prior to pressure and threats from “Israel’s” supporters? If the veto is what’s getting in the way here, then will you lead a movement to reform the UN and impose real safeguards for usage of the veto, or abolish it altogether? If none of this is going to happen, then what on Earth is the UN for? And what on Earth are you doing here?
