Burnout at work is a serious issue that arises when someone experiences prolonged stress, leading to physical and emotional exhaustion, reduced productivity, and a sense of detachment from their job. In my opinion, it is important for both employees and employers to address burnout early on. Workers need to recognize when they are feeling overwhelmed and take steps to manage their workload, set boundaries, and prioritize self-care. Employers, on the other hand, should foster a healthy work environment by offering support, ensuring manageable workloads, and promoting work-life balance to prevent burnout from happening in the first place. Without addressing it, burnout can lead to decreased job satisfaction, increased absenteeism, and long-term health problems.

When teachers are close to breaking down emotionally, it affects about a third of basic education teachers in Brazil. This causes not only the teachers' health to suffer but also the quality of teaching and student performance. Educational managers need to take action now to address this growing problem. Causes of Burnout among Teachers - Excessive workload: Many teachers work long hours beyond lessons due to planning and correcting activities. - Lack of recognition: Teachers feel demotivated due to devaluation and lack of institutional support. - Inadequate working conditions: Daily stress is aggravated by low salaries and insufficient resources. - Pressure for results: Constant demands for performance create a toxic and unsustainable work environment. Signs of Burnout Symptoms of burnout can include: - Extreme fatigue: Feeling persistently tired and lacking energy and motivation. - Anxiety and depression: Excessive worries about productivity and performance. - Demotivation: Difficulty finding satisfaction in daily activities. - Changes in sleep: Problems with insomnia or excessive sleep.
