This looks SO much better than waiting in line for a phone bank with one of those AT&T cards at like 25 cents a minute and not knowing if someone was at home to pick up. Then again, I had a 6 hour time zone difference, so odds were pretty good I was waking my parents. Love those smiles. :)
I can still smell the stench of sweatsaoked white works emanating from the phone banks and remember trying to get the att calling cards to work correctly and hoping someone was home to answer the phone.
Wwwwwwwwhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaattttttttt the __________?
My son was one of the Plebes who called home yesterday. He was able to give us a peek into his world. It amazes me that these young men and women not only had to jump through hoops to apply to the academy and compete for a congressional nomination but also signed up to miss most of their summer, to be without access to a phone or internet, and be pushed past their limits both physically and mentally all before they start their academic year. I think it speaks to the true character of each of Plebe. These are amazing men and woman who are going to be powerful leaders in the future! Frank Whitlock
We have come a long way from the Phone banks in the basement 😂 ☎ ☎ ☎
This beats carrying around a roll of quarters and squaring 100 corners to make it through the line to the sweaty phones :-). Very cool to see this!
My roommates and I figured that if we got up at earliest rising time on Sunday, we’d beat the lines at the phone banks. Sacrificed some precious extra sleep, but made way more than 3 calls home, even if it meant waking up my parents at 3 am.

1moDo you "execute" a call home? Maybe they just "called home."
