We're thrilled to announce the installation of solar panels and new LED lighting across our TJ O'Mahony and PH Ross branches, resulting in a significant reduction in our carbon footprint. As part of HPC Group's commitment to sustainability, these eco-friendly initiatives have already produced impressive results. In collaboration with UrbanVolt, the implementation of solar panels by HPC Group has resulted in an impressive 161,000 units of electricity generated, laying the foundation for a greener future. This has also helped the company save an impressive 114 tons of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere. The impact on the environment is positive, and at HPC Group we're proud to contribute to a more sustainable world. In addition to protecting the environment, at Home Project Centre Ltd we have also witnessed a considerable reduction in our electricity bills by 25%. This double benefit of cost savings and environmental impact underscores the effectiveness of investing in renewable energy solutions. We also took a significant step towards a more sustainable future by transitioning from internal combustion engine forklifts to an electric fleet. This shift not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also enhances operational efficiency and sustainability across HPC Group's operations. To further support the adoption of electric vehicles, HPC Group is rolling out 22Kw electric charge points across several TJ O'Mahony and PH Ross branches. By providing convenient and accessible charging facilities for our ever-expanding fleet, we aim to lead the charge in driving change towards a more sustainable world. We were delighted with the significant number of units of electricity from solar panels produced and the savings made on CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere. UrbanVolt were also able to forecast the investment required vs the return, and we're very pleased that the return on savings has surpassed our expectations. Hear what our CEO Sean Moran has to say about HPC Group's commitment to delivering on our sustainability goals and our successful collaboration with UrbanVolt. #hpcgroup #tjomahony #phross #handyhardware #sustainability #urbanvolt #solarpanels #electrification

Battling the traffic to get into Brussels sometimes feels like the juice isn't worth the squeeze. But not last Tuesday! 🍋 Thanks to the splendid organisation by Nodis Consulting and Sentigrate, we were able to share the table with a wide range of energy players to talk about hurdles and opportunities in flexibility. We couldn't agree more with Nodis' key takeaways below 👇 ••• The future of the energy system is electric and renewable. ••• New flexibility is needed to address adequacy, balancing and congestion challenges. ••• More residential flexibility could be unlocked today. Even though there is an uptake of flexible assets and smart meters, we see that dynamic price contracts are marginal, most small-scale PV cannot be curtailed and steering residential flex such as EV or home batteries on imbalance is the exception rather than the rule. ••• An intelligent market design that increases the accessibility to the different energy markets could foster residential flexibility. We identified some critical enablers: >>> Allowing multiple suppliers behind the meter could enable specialist companies to steer specific assets on price signals. >>> A predictable price signal accurately reflecting the system needs for flexibility. >>> A robust metering and settlement framework to support suppliers and flexibility service providers. ••• The customer must get a simple and clear value proposition. This can vary from clear cost savings on the energy bill to leasing offers for EVs, batteries or heat pumps that include a competitive energy sourcing cost while allowing for optimization.
Tuesday night we hosted our Exploring New Flex round table event together with Sentigrate. We brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from system operators, suppliers, aggregators, energy service providers and academia to discuss the future of flexibility.
