Can Ravana Really Die? Year after year, we are exhorted to 🟥 “kill” the Ravana within us—to eliminate our shortcomings, our flaws, our evils. We are told that, like Lord Rama, we must conquer the demons of greed, pride, anger, and jealousy that reside in us. But beyond the rituals and the grandiose calls for self-reform, are we really achieving that? Or are we simply participating in a tradition that allows us to feel briefly absolved, only to return to our usual ways once the ashes of the effigy settle? The Festival: A Symbol or an Escape?🎴 Dussehra, like many festivals, is loaded with symbolic value. It offers us a momentary sense of catharsis, a communal acknowledgment that we have flaws, but that these can be confronted and destroyed. The burning of Ravana’s effigy represents the ideal of moral purification. But the real question remains: what happens after the flames die down? The Illusion of Change🀄️ In a broader sense, we fail to reckon with the complexities of human nature. Ravana, after all, was not purely evil. He was a learned scholar, a devout worshiper of Lord Shiva, and a complex character with virtues and flaws. Perhaps the bigger problem is not in killing Ravana but in recognizing and understanding the parts of ourselves that are both flawed and capable of redemption. True Self Reflection Ravana’s death every Dussehra is not the end of evil but a reminder of its persistence. The true question is not can Ravana die? but rather, how do we continually strive to overcome the evils within us? The burning of an effigy is a powerful symbol, but it should serve as a starting point for continuous self-improvement rather than the illusion that the work is done. Otherwise, year after year, we’ll find ourselves returning to the same habits, confronting the same evils—both internal and external—and asking the same question: Can Ravana really die? #KaleidoSynergy #RealChangeMakers #CorporateTrainers
