Tinder’s Post

Tinder reposted this

I’m excited to share Tinder’s latest research, The Green Flags Study, which looks at the state of dating and dating app behaviors across three continents. What we’ve found is that men and women are in an "Assumptions Epidemic," making assumptions about each other that make it harder to connect. When we pull back the curtain on these findings, it’s clear that too often, green flags are being mistaken for red ones. To bring this data to life, Tinder hosted The Green Flag Club, a bespoke lounge for media, influencers and tastemakers to connect IRL and engage with our findings. Kudos to the team on launching the #TinderGreenFlagClub, and paving the way for greater understanding in dating. #TinderGreenFlagClub

I read the study and I have to say as a dater and dater advocate it felt so good to be seen as a human who goes on dates and yearns for in-person social connection and not just a user who is messaging and swiping. I hope that with this information there becomes a shift in focus to discover new ways to support daters in their post-match in-person dating journey. Would love the opportunity to be part of that discovery.

I was surprised by the stat that 58% of women think most men on there are looking for a quick fling. That seems low! That assumption does two things. First if I go out for dinner with someone and decide to take it down the friend or "that's it for now," path they think they did something wrong or were not good enough ect. Second lots of potential great connections get missed cause they look at a pic and read my short bio and are like, "nah don't want to have sex with that dude, swipe left" Really LinkedIn seems like the best dating site. Connecting really just says "You seem interesting, so let's get to know each other a bit," with no expectation of romance.

From what I've seen, Tinder is increasingly being used by both men and women to find lifelong connections and even serious relationships. This is a wonderful development, and it challenges the stereotypes that many people had a few years ago. Your research and initiatives like The Green Flag Club are paving the way for greater understanding in dating. Kudos to the team!

This research is incredibly insightful. It's fascinating how assumptions can create such barriers in dating. Were there any particular green flags that stood out as most commonly misunderstood?

Faye Iosotaluno Tinder is a fraud company. They have eaten away my money and have not been initiating a refund which is due since the month of February. I have been mailing since then but no one really seems to be bothered. Time and again people in Tinder support are trying their best to just run away from the issue and keep it unresolved. A bunch of shameless bastards.
