LinkedIn automatically sends an email called "Top job picks for you". Today in my email were five Account Manager positions and every one of them were remote based. Purely anecdotally, sales seems to be one job that no longer requires to be onsite at all. Do you still like having an Account Manager that comes around with coffee and donuts every once and awhile? Here's exactly how I did it (step by step - copy me):👇🏼 1) Leverage your network on LinkedIn. 💻 - Make a LinkedIn post saying you are searching for X Role. - Reach out to your connections letting them know you are looking for your next role. 2) Search LinkedIn job postings and prospect like your life depends on it. 👨🏻💻 Apply to 2-3 companies a day - ones you see yourself being at long term. For sales - prospect these titles 👇🏼 - VP of sales - Sales Managers - Recruiter for the role Download a free lead gen tool - personally used Prospect (tryprospect.com). Get as many phone numbers, and emails as you can. Get the free version of Loom. Use personalized outreach on WHY you would be a good fit for the role. Send very personalized messaging on every channel you can to the prospects above. 👉🏼 Even if someone is the wrong person, they will refer you to the right person probably by a warm intro. They will appreciate your HUSTLE 🔥 3) Track every interaction with every company. 📖 It's so easy to get lost in where you are at with what company. I used folk (my CRM), and they honestly helped me keep myself organized. I was able to track every company interaction that I had which was a lot. It's important to stay organized. 👉🏼 If you do this I promise you will have a new job in a few weeks! 🔥 Unbelievable Sales Job Alert – Prepare for a Rant! 🔥 So, I stumbled across this gem of a job post today, and I’m honestly questioning if some companies think we’re superheroes or robots. Here’s the lowdown: Position: Sales Manager Company: Nyxira Creative's Product: Website Building Service (₹4,999) Work Type: Remote Now here’s where it gets interesting (or insane, depending on your perspective): They expect you to: Cold call 400+ businesses a day. Yeah, you read that right. FOUR HUNDRED. That’s 50 calls per hour in an 8-hour shift. If you dial non-stop. No breaks, no lunch—just dial, pitch, and sell like a machine. Close 7-10 sales daily while juggling these calls. Because apparently, every potential client will just jump to buy after a 30-second pitch, right? 🙄 And if that’s not enough, after this madness, you still have to document every detail, update spreadsheets, track progress, strategize, and probably send a carrier pigeon to your manager with the day's results. But wait, there’s more! Salary: ₹50,000 to ₹70,000 per month… or so they say. But SURPRISE, it’s actually commission-only. You get ₹300 per sale. So to hit that ₹50k mark, you need to close 170+ sales a month. Totally realistic, right? 🤡 Basically, you’re a telemarketing robot on steroids, with zero security and insane targets. And did I mention no base salary? Just promises and pipe dreams. 🤯 I’m genuinely wondering—do they expect us to work with an IV drip of coffee and zero bathroom breaks? Because that’s what it would take to hit those numbers. 💥 Newsflash to companies like this: We’re humans, not machines. Sales requires strategy, relationships, and time—not a mindless dialing frenzy with impossible targets. Stop insulting professionals with these unrealistic, exploitative roles. When I got hired for my first #Sales role, I had zero industry (#HVAC) experience, had no 'formal' sales experience. However what I DID HAVE was 6 years under my belt of being a small business owner, in a crowded competitive space in a tough demographic (The Eastern Shore isn't exactly a wealth hub, and this is considered a luxury). I started from scratch a gym that focused on primarily youth athlete development and adult personal training. Did I crush it? Not on paper. Did I survive and not lose money? yes. That was a win for the 23 year old recent college grad. But it was also what I needed to know I could do whatever I wanted (within reason. I will not be operating on anyone anytime soon). Where I'm going with this. My hiring manager(s) at the time understood one thing: They could tell I knew what it took to make it and sales isn't (just) about product knowledge. I could learn industry. It was about serving customers, treating them the way THEY want to be treated, understanding company goals and merging that with your customer's business goals where a partnership thrives. I'm thankful for that opportunity because a lot of hiring managers and sales managers these days will look at a resume and move along. For what it's worth, I had a very successful 5 years there, because hiring people is sometimes about hiring people, not line items.
