Out in the world today: our first (and really *the* first) comprehensive analysis of global airline loyalty programs. While the details are nerdy – point.me has amazing data, and were able to parse 400M+ flight results to feed our analysis – this isn’t a niche topic for the most frequent flyers. Roughly 70% of US GDP is driven by consumer spending, and much of that is spent on a points-earning credit card. The result? Airlines award vastly more points and miles for non-flight activity than they do for those butt-in-seat miles, giving consumers real choice and influence over the rewards they can earn. Delta SkyMiles didn't make the top 10? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!!! (But United at #3, that's a bit surprising to me given how things have gone over the past few years. Guess I should read the methodology.)

What a fantastic report and read! Totally agree with Flying Blue and Aeroplan taking the top two spots 👏🏻
