🌍 Reflecting on an enriching experience at the Global Campus Interview 🌟 I participated in the Global Campus Interview, an event that brought together bright minds from across the globe. From the outset, it was evident that this wasn't just another interview; it was an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with individuals who share a passion for making a difference in the world. As I navigated through the interview process, I found myself immersed in conversations that transcended geographical boundaries. Each interaction was an exchange of ideas, perspectives, and experiences, highlighting the diversity of thought and the richness of our global community. From discussing innovative solutions to pressing challenges to sharing insights gained from unique cultural backgrounds, every moment was a testament to the power of collaboration and collective wisdom. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and mutual respect, fostering an environment where everyone felt valued and heard. It was inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and drive of my fellow participants as we collectively explored opportunities for growth and impact. The sense of unity and shared purpose was palpable, serving as a reminder of the transformative potential that lies within our interconnected world. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Global Campus Ambassador Team at the University of Sheffield for orchestrating such a remarkable event. How is campus engagement looking for employers in 2024? 🤔💭 Yesterday, our Employer Roundtable community joined our host Christos Orthodoxou in discussing the ROI of careers fairs, what's working (and what's not), and face-to-face vs. virtual campus engagement. Joined by representatives from Bloomberg, Virgin Media O2, Lloyds Banking Group, GKN Automotive, Sky, Transport for London, Schneider Electric, JLR, Amazon, Dentons, and more, some interesting stats came out of the session. When asked, "Why do you want to engage with university campuses?": 🎓 83% of attendees said 'graduate pipeline' 🛜 70% said 'internship/placement pipeline' 🤝 and 61% said 'ED&I' ('Apprentice pipeline' sat at 17%) Asked, "How are you planning to deliver campus engagement initiatives or programmes?": 👋 63% of attendees said 'Careers fairs' 🏛️ 58% said 'Campus presence' 🎭 and 53% said 'Societies' The group agreed that 'No applications' (63%) was the most effective way of measuring the success of campus engagement outreach initiatives in terms of ROI, followed by 'Diversity and inclusion' (21%) and 'No engagements' (11%). And when it came to delivering campus engagement activities, 60% of attendees were more inclined to 'Manage activities directly,' followed by 'A combination of direct activity and activity through 3rd parties' (33%), and 'Not sure/undecided' (7%).
