Our metasynthesis study reveals that Refugee Led Organisations (RLOs) are champions of accessibility, making their services easily reachable for community members, especially those who struggle with barriers posed by larger international bodies. Why RLOs stand out: 🔹 Unmatched accessibility: RLOs bring services directly to those in need. 🔹 Community-centric approach: Tailored support that truly understands and meets local needs. 🔹 A comparative edge: Outshining multilateral and international NGOs in service delivery. Navigating the Refugee Crisis: A Deep Dive with Deborah Henry On August 1st, The Nation with Nadia Blatif featured a pivotal interview with Deborah Priya Henry, founder of Fugee.org, discussing the #refugee crisis and Malaysia's role. What can we learn from her point of view? 1. Global Refugee Challenges: Deborah emphasized the growing refugee crisis driven by conflict, climate change, and issues like those in Myanmar. 2. Southeast Asia's Role: She highlighted Malaysia's significant refugee population, especially the Rohingya, and the need for better policies. 3. Policy Gaps: Deborah stressed the lack of effective policies for refugees in Malaysia, noting that this complicates the situation for everyone. There is a need for better integration and support, which can improve social cohesion. 4. Education and Rights: She advocated for refugees' right to education and work, addressing gaps between labor needs and opportunities. Deborah's insights urge us to rethink our approach to refugee support and advocate for both citizen and governmental accountability. 📺 Watch the full interview on BTV-Program for more. 👥 Support local initiatives, advocate for refugee rights, and educate others. Your voice can shape a more inclusive future. #RefugeeCrisis #Fugee #TheNation #YouthForChange

Many insightful and warm comments during this conversation I had the privilege to host as Six Seconds Europe with Giovanni Fontana, CEO and co-founder of Second Tree, an NPO working for and with refugees, volunteers and policy makers. A vision of de-victimisation, trustful peer to peer communication, alliance and deep connection is at the core of building communities of resilience. What if we applied all this to our ordinary relationships and networks? #emotionalintelligence #resilience #community Six Seconds https://lnkd.in/du9eeeHq

Researcher | Human Rights Defender | Youth Activist | Rohingya<>English Interpreter .A dreamer to be a renowned physician. Hunger of Higher Education. Rohingya Peace & Rights seeker.
The global community often amplifies its voice on social media and in high-profile meetings, showcasing efforts to donors and the public. However, when it comes to tangible action, especially for vulnerable populations like the Rohingya refugees, the results frequently fall short. Many NGOs and international organizations make grand promises and publicize their commitments, but the actual aid and support on the ground can be minimal and insufficient. This gap between rhetoric and reality leaves the Rohingya refugees in prolonged suffering, highlighting the need for genuine, sustained, and impactful interventions rather than mere lip service.
