Chapter 4: "Giacomo Marini" A leap back in time, still during the 2005 SVST, we find ourselves inside the offices of Noventi where Giacomo Marini hosted the 11 enterprising young students 🚀 During the meeting, he tells a compelling story of how, along with his colleagues Pierluigi Zappacosta and Daniel Borel, in 1981 he founded Logitech; one of the first companies to market and develop the mouse for the mass market. Originally, the company was supposed to be called Softech, paying homage to the software background of the three founders. However, the name was already registered. So, inspired by the French root for software, "logiciel", they chose Logitech as the name. A small change of course that gave rise to a great brand 💡 The company continued to grow more and more, to the point where its products are now sold all over the world 📈 Today Giacomo is President and CEO of Noventi and President of SVIEC Foundation.

✨ Reflecting on an extraordinary evening celebrating the SVIEC 20th Anniversary, where we were honored to have Janet Napolitano as a distinguished guest. Janet, good friend of Jeff Capaccio, fondly recounted their memorable visit to Quirinale in 2007 alongside Jeff and Fabio Ficano, where they had the privilege of meeting Giorgio Napolitano, who was serving as the President of the Republic of Italy at the time. Janet Napolitano's illustrious career speaks volumes about her dedication and leadership. She currently serves as a Member of the Joe Biden President's Intelligence Advisory Board. Previously, she held the esteemed position of the 20th President of the University of California from 2013 to 2020. Before that, she served as the third United States Secretary of Homeland Security from 2009 to 2013, under President Barack Obama. Prior to her federal service, Janet served as the 21st governor of Arizona from 2003 to 2009. Thank you, Janet, for sharing your insight and experience with us. Here's to continued collaboration and shared endeavors in the pursuit of progress and innovation!
