What is in the name? Do not put too much importance on the things we leave behind. I am the last person with my family name: It will die out with me as I have no kids; I used to feel bad about this; But with time and reflection, I realise it is just a name; My niece and nephews have far more Barrett characteristics than they perhaps hoped for. This is a challenge with legacy; leaving things behind has pressures: The farmers and their children don’t want the farm; The collector that knows that porcelain will be gifted when they die; A person who has held the family together for all these years, who knows they are the last linchpin; But that is the joy and perhaps the despair of legacy. You can’t guarantee what survives. It’s more important to enjoy what you’re doing than to worry about what will happen when you’re gone. What are you leaving behind? Hi, I’m James; I write about death, dying and living a good life. Why not try our newsletter?

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮. Over the last few decades there has been a lot of talk about “finding purpose”. Hundreds of books have been written about it. Sermons have been preached about it. It seems like the majority of the worlds population is searching for it. But why? Why is purpose such a sought after commodity, but yet can be so elusive? Here is what I’ve found to be true: People are looking for a reason to feel significant. They want their life to have meaning, and they need to know that they matter. Purpose provides those things and more. Your unique purpose is the specific reason why you were created, but you can’t find it without the influence of the purpose-giver. Before you were a thing, you were a thought. Before you were shaped in your mothers womb, God gave you a specific assignment to complete in the earth. Something that serves mankind and you all at the same time. People have tried to define it based on their emotion, the popular trend at the time, or the needs of the marketplace. But we cannot manufacture purpose. Even though it’s ours to steward, it doesn’t belong to us. It’s the creators intent for our lives. If you’re in search of your purpose or you’d like to get clarity around it, I’m inviting you to join me and Tara Ondusky for the “In Purpose On Purpose” live event on November 9th. We only have 25 seats available. Earlybird tickets are $49 until October 31st (tickets will increase to $99). 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹: ✅ Gain tools and practical knowledge to set a course for your purposeful path. ✅ Come to know your unique mix of energy and filters - the ingredients that allow you to be purposeful. ✅ Have breakthroughs to be equipped and have clarity to find your prowess. We’d love to have you in the room. Details are as follows: 📅 Event Date, Time, & Venue: November 9th from 9am-12pm Hilton Homewood Suites 31993 Van Dyke Avenue Warren, MI 48093 💡 Early Bird Pricing: $49 (ends Oct. 31st) Seating limited to 25. 🔗 Register now: https://lnkd.in/gWxvNHXh

COMMANDING OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. Party 2 (Brought to you by TWMN Content Creators) …Their commitment to serving others and building stronger communities reflects the transformative potential of collective love and compassion. This example highlights how agape love, manifested through acts of self-sacrifice, and generosity, can lead to remarkable successes and inspire positive change on both individual and societal levels. Success is commonly associated with material wealth, social status, and professional achievements. However, genuine fulfillment and happiness transcend these conventional benchmarks. Instead, success can be redefined through the lens of love, compassion, and our contributions to society. Rather than chasing after monetary rewards or accolades, success can be gauged by the richness of our relationships and the authenticity of our connections with others. Furthermore, success is evident in the positive impact we make on the lives of those around us and how we enrich our communities. Acts of kindness, generosity, and service exemplify the essence of love and compassion in action. Whether it involves volunteering for causes close to our hearts, offering support to those in need, or advocating for social justice, our endeavors to uplift and empower others play a pivotal role in creating a more empathetic and inclusive world. In essence, by redefining success to prioritize love, compassion, and meaningful contributions, we shift our focus towards fostering deeper connections and fostering positive change in society, thereby nurturing a more fulfilling and harmonious existence for ourselves and others.

Can you feel it? Whilst the afternoons still cling to the bright warmth of summer, the early mornings have taken on that touch of crisp that signals that fall has indeed arrived. The autumn equinox took place on early Sunday morning, officially ushering us into the season of harvest. We wrapped the Found Feathers summer invitational series with a call to consider the fruits—the milestones, surprises, and second blooms—of our seasonal growth endeavors, a splendid segue into autumn’s bid to reap what we have so diligently sown. To harvest our seeds of success, gather our lessons learned, and take stock of areas where our best laid plans might have taken an unexpected left-hand turn. The Found Feathers, Your Sacred Invitation autumn series will be all about consolidating the golden nuggets of wisdom harvested from previous seasons’ planting, tending, sprouting, and blossoming of our dream seeds. To celebrate and store our precious wisdom for current and future use, and even better, to find opportunities to pass it along. Autumn also brings in the energy of abundance, gratitude, and generosity. We’ll be tapping into opportunities to share our well-earned wisdom with others, to pay forward our gifts through kindness, storytelling, and love. As we make our way toward Thanksgiving and Giving Tuesday, I’ll revisit one of the deeply held values of the Lakota Nation... Dear Friends, In this moment, I want to take a pause and reach out to each one of you with a message of hope, understanding, and support. Life can be challenging, and at times, it may seem overwhelming. During these moments, it is crucial to remember that help and support are available, and there is always hope for a brighter tomorrow. If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, please remember that you are not alone, and there are people who care about you. Your life is valuable, and your presence makes a difference in the world. Here are a few important points to keep in mind: Reach Out: If you are struggling, don't hesitate to reach out to friends, family, or a mental health professional. There is strength in asking for help, and people around you care deeply about your well-being. Listen Without Judgment: If someone confides in you, listen without judgment and offer a compassionate ear. Sometimes, just having someone to talk to can make a significant difference. Know the Warning Signs: Be aware of the warning signs of suicide, such as withdrawing from social activities, sudden mood swings, or expressing feelings of hopelessness. If you notice these signs in yourself or someone else, take them seriously. Encourage Professional Help: Encourage seeking professional help from counselors, therapists, or mental health professionals. They are trained to provide the support needed during difficult times. Share Resources: Familiarize yourself with local and national suicide prevention resources. In Nigeria, as listed on pulse.ng you have about five options. *SURPIN Helpline Nigeria Call them on tel:080 0078 7746 *Mentally Aware Nigeria Initiative (MANI) They are open 24/7, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, so they are always available to help. Remember, it's okay not to be okay, and seeking help is a sign of strength. You are not alone, and there is always hope for a better future. Let's foster a community where open conversations about mental health are encouraged, and where support is readily available. If you know someone who may benefit from this message, please share it. Together, we can make a positive impact and contribute to a world where every individual feels valued and supported. With care and compassion

If you watch anything today - make sure it’s this. It’ll put everything into perspective. All the things little things we care about - compared to what we should actually care about.
