Equations that changed the world? That list has to include: FV=PV(1+i/n)^nt where: FV=Future value of money PV=Present value of money i=Interest rate n=Number of compounding periods per year t=Number of years

Black Scholes, isn't that what led to the 1998 LTCM bubble and subsequent crash? A year or so earlier, during the "Asian crisis", US-based IMF said "no bailout for distressed Asian countries" although Japan had offered to provide the funds for a bailout. And that any rescue had to come from the IMF and no one else? I.e. the Asian countries were to be given "an offer you can't refuse". A year later when LTCM threatened to collapse Wall Street, then, sure enough, a bailout was organized by the big Wall Street banks, & the Fed. What was that IMF-guys' name again? Rubin? Or was it Vito Corleone? Professor Richard A Werner , is my recollection of history accurate?

I suppose there must be more than 17 such equations. I could think of Archimedes equation of buoyancy, the π equations for circles and trigonometry as well as the e (the exponential) which is also attributed to Euler. I also wish to note that the basic Ohmic and volt/amp equations are derivatives of Maxwell equations in phasor form and are not necessarily stand-alone equations to be listed in the above list.

Without PV=nrT, we wouldn't have steam trains, V8 engines or indeed nuclear power stations...!!

The advancement of nuclear power did not prove equation 13, Enstein was correct that light waves can be altered by Gravity. Bohr challened Enstien agreed 13 had a few holes. Thus the term Enstein blinked during the series of debates with Bohr. Tesla more than 20 years earlier forecast that debate challenging his theory of relativity.

Not sure why #Bernoulli isn’t on this list. 🛫
