The three teens didn’t just craft a bench – they built a legacy for future learners, patients and families to enjoy for years to come. A Great Champion of Healthcare & Paterson Passes 🙏 A Fond Farewell to Our Dear Friend Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. 💙🇺🇸 It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our dear friend and colleague – Congressman Bill Pascrell. He was a dedicated advocate and unwavering supporter of our community’s health. With his wide smile and humble nature, Congressman Pascrell was frequently the first in line to greet community members during health education events and life-saving vaccination clinics. A proud, lifelong Paterson resident, he fought for St. Joseph’s Health and the funding necessary to provide for the most vulnerable in our community – the very people that he worked for each and every day. Over the years, Congressman Pascrell joined us in co-hosting roundtables to address urgent healthcare issues including the Affordable Care Act, pre-existing conditions and drug pricing. He also advocated for federal support of the 340b discount prescription program, emergency psychiatric screenings, and our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and developed national initiatives around traumatic brain injury and alternatives to opioids. Throughout his career in public service, Congressman Pascrell recognized the critical role that St. Joseph’s plays in advancing the health of our community, and we are eternally grateful for his steadfast support.
