LiDAR that can see behind the sunglasses might seem akin to Extra Sensory Perception, but it actually showcases the remarkable power and precision of high-performance #LiDAR technology. When it comes to #DriverMonitoringSystems (DMS), sophisticated vision systems are indispensable. They must ensure accurate tracking of the driver's gaze and head orientation, even in challenging conditions such as bright sunlight or when wearing sunglasses. The reality is, sunglasses designed to block visible light can also obscure the eyes, making it difficult for standard sensors to pinpoint the driver’s focus. Our Eyeonic Vision Sensor, however, takes a different approach that makes it impervious to these challenges. Check out why precision matters here: https://lnkd.in/gR5hgPEn #CanYourLidarDoThis #FMCWLiDAR #MachineVision #AutonomousVehicles

U.S. authorities' new mandate requires carmakers to install automatic emergency braking systems (AEB) on new vehicles. Recent tests have raised concerns about the effectiveness of AEB systems in detecting pedestrians. While AEB plays a vital role in collision avoidance, its limitations in pedestrian detection call for a closer look at alternative solutions, such as #LiDAR technology. Here at SiLC we point to LiDAR as a highly reliable solution with its ability to operate in various lighting conditions, including darkness. In fact, our extended range capability allows for the detection of pedestrians from distances of over 1 kilometer away, providing drivers with crucial reaction time. Additionally, our LiDAR's real-time velocity precision and angular resolution equip drivers with the necessary data to make informed decisions and enhance road safety. Let's consider LiDAR technology as a viable option for addressing pedestrian safety concerns and work toward a safer future on the road. It's not a bird, it's not a plane — it's a drone! Conventional LiDAR can make object identification feel like a guessing game. Adding polarization information to precision distance and high-resolution Doppler data changes that. Take a close look at the photo, and you'll notice the drone with its propellers, while the bird is adorned in feathers. Using #Polarimetry to differentiate between organic and inorganic materials, such as bird feathers versus plastics, metals, or cardboard, can make all the difference. It means addressing a potential threat with confidence versus merely admiring a wayward bird in flight. We’ll be on the show floor at XPONENTIAL Show from April 22-25 demonstrating our #EyeonicVisionSystem. You’ll be able to see first-hand how essential high-resolution velocity data is for detecting subtle movements such as the spinning of drone propellers. For #PerimeterSecurity and overall #DroneDetection, ultra long range, angular resolution and velocity precision is essential. Explore how the power of performance can work for you.
