The fashion industry devouring a staggering 79 trillion liters of water annually, and leaving behind a whopping 92 million tons of waste is just one example of overconsumption within industry. It's time for a sustainable revolution… by choosing eco-friendly materials, embracing circular fashion, and supporting brands that prioritize ethical practices, we can start the journey towards building a better system. We have the power to push corporations towards a more sustainable economy where we can create, consume, and repurpose. Our current linear economy generates products made from “virgin materials” and transforms them into something we use once and discard. What our planets needs is for us to transition into a circular economy, which aims to repurpose and reuse raw materials and natural resources that have already been extracted from the environment, thus, generating much less waste.

Ford Motor Co. is making a significant shift in its electrification strategy, canceling plans for a fully electric three-row SUV, a move that could cost the company around $1.9 billion. This decision reflects a broader recalibration as Ford reduces its electric vehicle (EV) spending to 30% of its annual capital expenditures, down from 40%. The automaker also plans to delay the release of its next-generation electric pickup and revamp its battery-sourcing strategy to better compete with lower-cost Chinese manufacturers. CEO Jim Farley emphasized that Ford is now focused on ensuring profitability from its EVs, including a new midsize pickup truck powered by cost-effective lithium iron phosphate batteries to be produced in Michigan. Despite the setbacks, Ford is committed to delivering EVs that match the cost of traditional vehicles and aims to turn a profit on these models within a year of their launch. This strategic pivot underscores Ford's commitment to a sustainable and profitable future in the EV market, even as it adapts to changing market conditions. #StakeHolderCapitalism #EV #ShareScoops Read more here: ➡https://lnkd.in/dBQzXT6X

The legal battle against Live Nation Entertainment and Ticketmaster has escalated as attorneys general from nearly 40 U.S. states, including the District of Columbia, seek treble damages for allegedly monopolizing the live concert industry. The lawsuit, originally filed in May, claims that these companies inflated ticket prices and stifled competition, harming both artists and fans. By adding federal anti-monopoly claims, the states aim to pursue three times the monetary damages initially sought. The lawsuit highlights the significant control Live Nation and Ticketmaster exert over the live music ecosystem, managing more than 400 artists and controlling approximately 60% of concert promotions at major venues. With Ticketmaster handling about 80% of primary ticket sales for large venues, the dominance of these companies in the industry is clear. Despite the 2010 Justice Department-approved merger between Live Nation and Ticketmaster, which included conditions to protect competition, the DOJ has accused Live Nation of continued anticompetitive behavior. This case is a pivotal moment for the live music industry, as states aim to usher in a new era where fans, venues, and artists are not at the mercy of corporate monopolies. #LiveNation #Monopoly #Lawsuit #StakeHolderCapitalism Read more here: ➡https://lnkd.in/eDWVeRb2

It was a pretty slow week, but the most exciting news came from Target. For months, we’ve been talking about the optimistic path for a rebound being some short-term deflation (stuff getting cheaper) as wages catch up to the inflated cost of living. It’s happening! Chevron has made the significant decision to relocate its headquarters from California to Houston, Texas. This move marks the end of a long-standing relationship with California, where the company has deep roots dating back to the 1870s. The shift to Houston isn't entirely unexpected; the area has been Chevron's operational hub for many years, with thousands of employees already based there. The decision highlights a growing trend in the oil and gas industry, where companies are consolidating operations and aligning themselves with regions more supportive of traditional energy production. While California has been at the forefront of pushing for aggressive climate policies, Chevron's relocation to Texas underscores the ongoing tension between energy companies and states with strict environmental regulations. This move also reflects broader changes in the industry, as companies seek to optimize operations and respond to investor concerns about long-term profitability. Americans aren’t falling behind on their debt. So, things are not as booming as they were in the super-stimulated post-pandemic 2021 era, but it’s not time to panic.
