Informing about EUMM is always importing
It was an honour to host Mr. Alexandre Escorcia, Head of Service at the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, today. It's been 15 years since his involvement in the establishment of our Mission, and we're proud to showcase our ongoing commitment to our mandate. During our meeting, we emphasised our unwavering determination to foster stability in Georgia and the wider region. In this regard, we highlighted our efforts to build trust among the conflict parties and enhance the livelihoods of people living along the Administrative Boundary Lines. Currently, 5 French monitors work for EUMM. Even as defense forces modernization is not an end in itself; it is a vital part of the apparatus to defend the country against aggression, protect national interest, pursue national development and execute government policy. It considers the declarations of national policies, the resources available and the capacity of the state to formulate and execute plans and programs. Modernization plans must suit the requirements of the armed forces and the peculiar nature of the national domain. The unique circumstances of a country must be factored-in so unsuitable, inappropriate and unsustainable foreign practices and projects are disregarded or eliminated. Systems and procedures are not simply copied or imitated from other countries unless there are commensurate benefits or advantages gained.

This video is one of many that document the ongoing actions of the Israeli Defense Forces in Gaza, capturing events that occur regularly. It clearly shows that the people in the video are unarmed, without any form of weapon, including basic items like knives. They appear to be simply inspecting the damage to their homes caused by Israeli activities. This kind of situation is a stark example of actions that considered as genocide. It raises a critical question: What more is needed to prompt international intervention to stop these acts?

CIL is a university-wide research centre located at the NUS Bukit Timah Campus. (RT, links, likes ≠ endorsement)
In the aftermath of the 7 October 2023 attacks, Israel claimed the right of self-defence and began a widespread operation in the Gaza strip. On 8 October 2023, Hezbollah (a Lebanese non-State actor) launched rockets onto the Shebaa farms, ostensibly in solidarity with the Palestinian people. This has resulted in a low-level armed conflict, causing casualties among both military personnel and civilians on both sides. Jamming and spoofing operations which covered large areas of the Lebanese territory were conducted by the Israel Defence Force. These operations disrupted civilian infrastructure, including aerial and maritime navigation systems, and caused panic on board flights. This blog post, by Hussein Badreddine, treats cyber operations in times of war; first, this post answers whether the threshold for an armed conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has been met; second, whether jamming and spoofing constitute attacks under international law; and if so, do they conform with the rules of distinction and proportionality? https://lnkd.in/g7BigDCY

Bring them back home 🎗 | Social Entrepreneur | Sustainability | Storytelling. Opinions mine, always.
According to the Geneva Convention, civilian hospitals organized to provide care to the wounded, sick, infirm and maternity cases, in no circumstances, be the object of attack or used for military purposes. However, according to The New York Times investigation and senior U.S. intelligence officials, Hamas used the Shifa hospital complex and sites beneath it for command and control activities, weapon storage, and holding "at least a few hostages." The use of the hospital for combat purposes dates back to 2018. Questions remain: How could Hamas operate a terror command center within and under the hospital for years without the UN and UNRWA knowing about it, considering that UNRWA took an active part in operating and funding the hospital? Also, despite multiple harsh condemnations of Israel for conducting military operations in and around the hospital, why haven't any United Nations officials or agencies issued explanations or condemnations for Hamas's use of the hospital for military purposes and for using it to hide civilian Israeli hostages, including children? https://lnkd.in/d_Dmtvws

Some context on who was killed in the Israeli hostage rescue operation. If we sent in our U.S. special operators to free American hostages - why haven't we yet - we would have an AC-130 overhead to deal with the threats the IDF dealt with. We would have killed a bunch of civilian military-aged-males moving on our operators.

Back down, never. These strikes on facilities used by Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups in Iraq represent a targeted and proportionate response to specific threats posed by Iranian-sponsored militias, with the overarching goal of protecting U.S. personnel, facilities, and interests in the region. Here is why they are necessary for national security and why it is likely this is just the beginning: • They are a response to attacks against U.S. personnel. • Key to disrupting and degrading militia capabilities. • Essential to defending U.S. troops and interests in the region. • "A step towards preparedness for further measures." • A response to and deterrent to additional human cost incurred by the United States. The emphasis on preparedness for further measures underscores the gravity of the situation and the United States' commitment to the long game and significant additional investments to national security.
