Globalization of Football Ownership
The article discusses the changing ownership landscape in Europe's top football leagues, focusing on the Premier League and Bundesliga. It notes a significant presence of foreign owners, especially from the USA, in the English league compared to just one club in the German league. This difference is attributed to Germany's 50+1 rule, which prioritizes fan ownership.
The article also mentions the Owners’ and Directors’ Test, a regulation in England to ensure suitable ownership. It highlights the dominance of American owners across various European leagues and emphasizes the global nature of football ownership, involving investors from 17 different countries.

So what does the Dutch coach bring to Anfield? To find out our guest on the ‘Dortmund Fan Club London Podcast’ is a man who played against Arne in the Eredivisie for almost a decade, and with him in the Netherlands youth set up, former Swansea City Football Club, Borussia Dortmund (2005-6), and Ajax winger Cedric van der Gun.
Here are the talking points:

Enzo Maresca's Chelsea Football Club, needs to face the new season with a precise tactical identity, to enhance the talent available and return to excel in the Premier League. The focus is on assimilating game principles and improving, in particular the control and management of the ball in the possession phase. In the first two, of the three friendly matches played so far, we could see how James (RB) played from 'Inverted FB', positioning himself on the second height by completing the initial 3+2 in build-up.
In the third, against Club América, James positioned himself in the front line with the two CBs, and it was Malo Gusto (LB) who positioned himself internally from 'Inverted FB', a functional team feature that few can count on. The positional structure they used was a 3-2-2-3 (4-2-2-3 with GK), a structure that uses the 'four heights' principle, with the first three (3-2-2/4-2-2 with GK) actively participating in the build-up.
The positional advantages that this type of structure seeks to bring have not been fully exploited in these matches, which is why the implementation of an articulated positional proposal takes longer than average. The search for greater attraction/provocation of the opponent in the possession phase is a signal that leaves good hope to optimise the management of the ball, and then progress and exploit the important qualities of his interpreters in the last third of the field.

Flag Football: Back into the Game at 47
Today, I want to share a personal story that took an unexpected turn back into the world of sports. Growing up in the US during the 70s and 80s, basketball and football were ingrained in my childhood.
Flag football, initially designed as a way to practice the fundamentals of tackle football without the risk of injuries, has transformed into a highly competitive sport in its own right. The structure of the game provides a unique opportunity for individuals like me, who missed the thrill of competition but didn't want to endure the physical toll of tackle football. It also provides the youth a safe way to hone their skills if they do decide to continue with tackle.
At 47, I laced up the cleats once more. To my surprise, Germany had fully embraced flag football, adding their spin to the rules and making the sport even more captivating.
With a new sense of purpose, I found myself back in the game, competing, staying fit, and challenging Father Time. check it out https://lnkd.in/d-MNRwa4 I'm still doing them in, taking ankles.
Unlike the short lifespan of tackle football, flag football offers a chance to play competitively while minimizing the risk of injuries. Realizing that I wasn't chasing an NFL dream, I focused on training for longevity. I discovered specific exercises and techniques that not only kept me competitive but also ensured my overall health and well-being.
Now, you might be wondering, why share this with our friends in Europe? Well, it's because I believe I've stumbled upon the fountain of youth again. Flag football has given me the chance to challenge myself, stay active, and enjoy the camaraderie of the game. It's a sport that transcends borders and offers a unique blend of fitness and fun.
In conclusion, my journey back into football, specifically flag football, has been a rejuvenating experience. For those in Europe looking for a way to stay fit, and competitive, and embrace the joy of the game, I highly recommend giving flag football a try.
