Enclosed Space Entry is a recurring problem in the maritime industry. In case of emergency in enclosed spaces, TIME is very essential. The faster the response, the better the outcome. With the Enclosed Space Location Monitoring Sheet, the location of the person inside the space is being monitored with regular reporting. Additionally, it aids the enclosed space rescue by: - A drawing/ diagram of the enclosed space is readily available on site for rescue planning purposes - Last reported position of the person inside is marked, thus making rescue operations faster and efficient. Today on the 25th June, we celebrate Day of the Seafarer, a day to acknowledge and appreciate all the work seafarers do day in and day out to help keep goods travelling around the globe. This year, the IMO theme was ‘Your Top Tips for Safety at Sea’, and to mark this we ran a fleet-wide competition for our vessels to find the ‘best’ Best Practice safety solution of 2024, so far! We received some brilliant suggestions to improve safety onboard, and some great solutions to help prioritise safe working. After lots of deliberation, it was decided that our vessel Al Oraiq was the winner with their Best Practice creating an enclosed space location monitoring sheet, to help make enclosed space entry safer. Well done! Thank you to our seafarers who, every day, help make sure our industry can be a safer one, through acting as leaders in safety and raising suggestions such as best practices to help improve. And thank you to all seafarers around the world for helping to keep the world moving! #KLNG #DayoftheSeafarer

Safety first. It is as simple as that. Seafaring is a high-risk occupation. But that can never be an excuse to relax on safety issues. Instead, it should push us to always strive for safer ships and ways of working. Today is the International Day of the Seafarer. The International Maritime Organization has chosen to focus on safety at sea as the theme for 2024, and we wholeheartedly support this theme. Safety is the most crucial aspect of our work. We won't transport your goods if it means a too high risk for our colleagues at sea. At Grieg Star, we live by the motto, 'Work with safety to come home safely.' This saying, which has been ours for close to ten years, underscores the crucial role of our seafarers in making our industry safer. They are not just employees, but the very heart of our safety efforts. Therefore, our seafarers' safety tips are integral to our work. Their insights and experiences are invaluable in making seafaring safer. Nothing matters more. #SafetyTipsAtSea

Day of the Seafarer ⚓ Seafarers are the driving force of the maritime industry. Beyond their everyday duties, seafarers face the challenges posed by decarbonisation efforts, adopting new fuels, innovative vessel designs, and the ongoing digitalisation of the industry. All while their safety remains the paramount concern. Geopolitical tensions and conflicts add another layer of complexity to their crucial role. Today, on the Day of the Seafarer, the theme is "Your top tips for safety at sea". The most valuable safety insights come from the seafarers themselves. It underscores the importance of actively listening and learning from their experiences, not just today, but every day. #DayOfTheSeafarer #SeafarerSafety #MaritimeIndustry #SafetyTipsAtSea

Thats a great quote from General Secretary Arsenio Dominguez. Unfortunately as I have see recently designers, builders and company's don't agree. If they did seafarers would be involved in the initial risk assessment and concept design stage. The majority of the time seafarers get a bit of time before having a ship handed over to them but this is only for familarisation. There's no chance to make any changes for the safety issues that are now built into the vessel. If they are very lucky seafarers might get to make comments on some of the layout drawings, even then the design concept is done and major changes are not possible. As we move to fuels such as Ammonia which are novel from the point of being a fuel have been carried onboard ships for decades. There's a wealth of seafarer expereince about what a safe and operable system design is and what is dangereous and difficult to operate and maintain. Yet that expereince is being either ignored or under utilised. This will result in systems which at best increase complexity and crew workload and at worse add in risks that didn't need to be there and lack the required safety systems to mitigate them. Designers and shipyards involvement lasts only a few years and stops after a vessel is handed over. For seafarers our involvement lasts 20-35 years. While ease of design and build are important considerations, they must not override crew safety, ease of operation and ease of maintenance. This is something I want to see change in our industry. #nautilusint #MarineEngineering #Seafarers
As the campaign draws to a close, we want to reiterate our appreciation for seafarers' contributions to a safety culture in the maritime industry. Your commitment to safety and excellence is greatly appreciated and makes a significant impact on our industry. #SafetyTipsAtSea Happy International #DayoftheSeafarer

In the vast expanse of the maritime industry, the heartbeat of every successful voyage is undoubtedly a content and engaged crew. 🌊⛴️ As we navigate the dynamic waters of commercial shipping, it's crucial to acknowledge the pivotal role that a happy crew plays in the overall success of maritime operations. A few reflections on why fostering a positive work environment onboard is more than just a luxury—it's a necessity: 1️⃣ Safety First, Always: A content crew is a vigilant crew. When seafarers are happy and engaged, they are more likely to be alert, focused, and committed to the strict safety protocols that govern maritime operations. A positive work environment directly contributes to accident prevention and emergency response effectiveness. 2️⃣ Enhanced Performance: Crew members who feel valued and supported are more likely to go the extra (nautical) mile. Recognizing and rewarding their efforts not only boosts morale but also contributes to increased productivity and efficiency in day-to-day operations. 3️⃣ Cohesive Teamwork: Onboard a vessel, teamwork is not just a virtue; it's a necessity. A crew that enjoys a positive camaraderie fosters effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. This unity is the cornerstone of successfully overcoming the challenges that may arise during a voyage. 4️⃣ Mental Well-being Matters: Life at sea can be demanding, both physically and mentally. A supportive work environment that prioritizes mental well-being helps prevent burnout, reduces stress levels, and ensures crew members can perform their duties with focus and resilience. 5️⃣ Retention and Recruitment: Word travels fast in the maritime community. A reputation for a happy crew attracts top talent and enhances crew retention. Experienced and content seafarers are invaluable assets to the shipping industry. Let's recognize and celebrate the hardworking men and women who dedicate their lives to keeping our global trade routes flowing smoothly. By prioritizing their well-being and job satisfaction, we pave the way for a brighter and safer future for commercial shipping. ⚓️✨ #MaritimeIndustry #HappyCrew #SafetyAtSea #ShippingSuccess #Teamwork #SeafarerLife
