Rob, There are so many good reasons for taking concrete preventative measures to preserve good health. It's easy to procrastinate! Dementia is a terrible problem that has costs escalating progressively. Care is only going to create a crunch of helpers because of the number of people aging and the lack of caregivers. I have no issue with being welcoming to people from other countries. However, many who are crossing illegally are unable to read. This problem cascades to other issues. There are solutions for sure. But it is good to be aware that this is one that many never consider.

You are spot-on: We must be a country of welcome! We need the skills and compassion from direct care workers in other countries. We will be left behind and left without the skilled services we need without an effective immigration policy.

Thank you for this posting Rob. One of our clients is developing treatment approaches for patients with dementia. And the wife of a close family member is suffering from the disease. He is caring for her. So unfortunately I know a lot about it. As people live longer, we will need to increase our understanding of how to support these people and their caregivers.

This may be one of the most critical issues for families and the aging population. We have had to deal with it in our own family and worry about those who do not have resources to accommodate advanced dementia Rob Liebreich.

Aren't we already at that point? Aren't we already stretched - and stressed - out? It's a good thing you've been working on this and have a set of strategies to help and I'm delighted to see your voice being amplified even more!

Unfortunately, our health system is built around being reactive versus proactive. Rob, your approach has always been a proactive approach to caring for those with dementia. Keep up the wonderful work.🤗

The work you’re doing is so important and I’m grateful for it! My dad died from Alzheimer’s. I helped in some ways, but I watched how hard it was for my mom through the years of being his primary caregiver. As I age, I often wonder if my memory lapses/forgetfulness are just from trying to do too many things or a sign of more to come. Your focus on prevention is truly appreciated!
