Allyship is a journey of understanding, empathy, and action. It’s about listening to the voices of the #LGBTQIA+ community, amplifying their messages, and advocating for change. It’s about educating ourselves and others, challenging biases, and pushing for inclusive policies and practices. This Pride Month, let’s commit to being more than allies in name. Let’s be allies in our actions, our words, and our hearts. Because when we lift each other up, we all rise together. 💪🏳️🌈 Click the link to view our #WordsatWork Guide. https://lnkd.in/eVrnTFb4 #ManpowerGroupPride #CelebratePride

Happy Pride *and* keep going, keep growing, this month and beyond. Use your resources and access to get yourself and others the training they need to make systemic changes that uplift all people. Sometimes this involves a bit of risk, and that's what it is to be an accomplice--the most active and impactful form of allyship. Really show up for queer and trans people in all industries and facets of every day life, especially if its uncomfortable, especially if you fear you may lose respect from an authority figure or resources from a gatekeeper. You know how far you can push it--make that call and go for it. Keep going, keep growing. Even for those of us who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community, many of us hold privileges that others don't. We are a nonmonolithic, incredibly diverse community. There's always something we can learn and do better at in our inclusivity practice. Leverage what you have at your finger tips and understand that just because you're gay and comfortable that doesn't mean the fight has ended. Keep going, keep growing. I'm here to help you and others do it along with you! I'm available for speaking engagements, trainings, and consultations, from brief presentations and day long workshops to ongoing support with big projects and plans. I serve nationally and internationally while based on the ancestral homelands of sovereign Native nations, including the Tequesta, the Calusa, and today, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida. DM me or reach out via deviate2elevate.com Alternatively, share my information with someone who you know may benefit from my support. If I can't address their goals, I give referrals to those who can. Photo by Victoria Gonzalez #happypride #lgbtqpridemonth #lgbtqconsulting #lgbtqinclusivity #workplacedei #lgbtqinclusion

As we celebrate the Pride season this summer, I feel compelled to share a part of my identity. I am queer, and I am proud. 🏳️🌈 In Alberta, we’ve seen a troubling rise in hate towards the 2SLGBTQ+ community. It’s disheartening but has also reinforced the importance of visibility and representation. I am out of LinkedIn and Rogers Communications, for those who feel unseen and unheard. I believe that our workplace environments should be sanctuaries of inclusivity and respect, where everyone can be their authentic selves without fear. This Pride season let’s stand together against hate and celebrate the beautiful diversity of our community. To all my 2SLGBTQ+ friends and allies in Alberta and beyond, know that you are not alone. Let’s continue supporting each other, not just during Pride, but daily. 🌈 Call to Action: I encourage each of you to take a moment to reflect on how you can contribute to a more inclusive world. Whether through education, advocacy, or simply offering a listening ear, our actions matter. If you’re looking for ways to get involved, consider supporting local 2SLGBTQ+ organizations and participating in Pride events. Visibility Matters. I hope that one day I don’t have to talk about being queer. A day when I am just known as Jay. A day when we all can live without fear and love whom we love. #Pride #Inclusivity #Diversity #OutAndProud #2SLGBTQ+ #ConversationsForChange #OutOnLinkedIn

Fostering inclusive narratives is paramount for amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups (URGs) within our society. Without such visibility, there is a risk that individuals from majority groups may overlook or discount the experiences of URGs, perpetuating a narrative of non-existence. To combat this, organizations must implement robust internal communication strategies aimed at showcasing the stories and experiences of individuals from URGs. By providing a platform for these narratives to be shared, we can challenge preconceived notions and promote a culture of inclusivity. Let's embrace #YesWeExist and prioritize #inclusion through the power of #storytelling. #URGs #lgbtqia

🌟 Day 5: Decentering Whiteness: Creating Space for All Voices 🌟 In our ongoing celebration of Pride and Juneteenth, today we focus on the crucial task of decentering whiteness in our movements. By challenging the dominance of white perspectives, we create space for marginalized voices and build more inclusive communities. 🔍 Key Highlights: James Baldwin: Writer and social critic, addressing the complexities of race, sexuality, and class. Andrea Jenkins: First openly transgender Black woman elected to public office in the U.S., advocating for intersectional justice. Miss Major Griffin-Gracy: Transgender activist fighting for the rights of trans women of color and decentering whiteness in the LGBTQ+ movement. Quote of the Day: "The master's tools will never dismantle the master's house." – Audre Lorde Decentering whiteness is not about excluding white-skinned people but about removing the limited lens imposed by white supremacy. This approach enriches our movements, making them more inclusive and effective. 📖 Read more and join the conversation on my Substack newsletter 🎉 Upcoming Workshop! 🎉 Join us for the live workshop "Building Intentional Communities" at the end of this month to delve deeper into community-building strategies. 🔗 Register for the workshop here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eTcK86xa 💡 Support Equity in Education Consider becoming a paid subscriber to support equity in education. Pride Month Is Over OR for the rest of the year: We can vote in every election available to us. We can keep discussions going about laws that provide and preserve human rights for all. We can stay mindful of our words around those who might still be figuring out who they are. We can provide a safe space for questions, stories, and people who want to come out to us. We can speak up when we hear overt or covert anti-LGBTQIA+ comments. We can ask for change when we notice anything that is not inclusive. We can study and learn from experts and listen to and read stories of lived experience. We can speak words of love, care, acceptance, and support. We can be open, curious, and seek understanding without placing the burden of our ignorance on LGBTQIA+ people. We can …? #pride2024 #lgbtiqa+ #allyship #integrity #dei #loveislove

Happy Pride Month Network! As a member of the LGBTQ2+ Community , I wanted to share some simple tips that can help you to become a better ally to the community. 1. Be open to learn, listen and educate yourself 2. Check your privilege, we are all the same. 3. Don't assume - ANYTHING 4. Think of 'ally' as an action rather than a label 5. Confront your own prejudices and unconscious bias- Its' important to be uncomfortable. 6. Know that language matters 7. Know that you will mess up sometimes – breathe, apologize, and ask for guidance It is important to remember that absolutely no one is perfect and we all have room for growth and learning, however what is important is to always remain kind and to be open to change. To my fellow community members, it is also important that we also remain patient, and understanding to the fact that there are many people around us who are not familiar and who make mistakes, we are all human, lets be mindful of the attempt to grow and change and instead encourage it and allow it to flourish. If we all were just a little kinder, there would be so much less hate in the world. 🌈

Are you a silent bystander even when you know something is unfair or discriminatory? I've been there too. Being an ally can feel intimidating. Especially when the power dynamics of our workplaces make it really hard — and often threatening — to speak out. But using the privilege you have to be a better ally is how we can collectively make our workplaces and communities better and safer places for everyone. Recently we caught up with Bree Fram and Liz Cavallaro on We Are Human Leaders podcast to learn more about how we can become better allies to the LGBTQIA+ community. Here are six ways they recommend you can do this today. #LGBTQIA+ #ally #allyship #wearehumanleaders

In times of turmoil, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters—human dignity and rights. While profit may drive growth, true progress lies in upholding the values of compassion, empathy, and justice. As the world grapples with political tensions and conflicts, it's more important than ever to stand firm in defense of human rights. Every individual deserves to live free from fear, oppression, and discrimination, regardless of nationality, race, or belief. Let's reject narratives that seek to undermine human rights in the pursuit of power or profit. Instead, let's come together in solidarity to support those who are most vulnerable and advocate for a future where everyone can thrive in peace and dignity. At Q2-Computing, we believe in using technology and innovation to build a more just and equitable world. Join us in promoting respect for human rights, both locally and globally. Together, we can make a difference. #StandWithUkraine #HumanRights #AWomansChoice #LGBTQA #NeuroDivergent #Justice #Equality #Compassion #Empathy
