💬 Discover our interview with Luca Bolognini, President of the Italian Institute for Privacy and Data Valorisation (IIP) and co-chair of the Privacy Symposium 💬 The Italian Parliament has just voted and approved an important amendment to Section 110 of the Italian Privacy Code, which is relevant for studies in the healthcare and biomedical sectors. During Privacy Symposium 2023, Mr Bolognini chaired a roundtable roundtable discussion that deliberated the need for the amendment. Following the conference, the amendment was concretely drafted, presented, and finally approved by the Italian Parliament. Mr Bolognini shares: “We had the opportunity, during the Privacy Symposium, to meet and discuss these roundtable issues, collecting proposals from stakeholders, authorities, researchers, and institutions involved in the research field. 🎇 Celebrating Data Protection Day this year has never been more relevant! 🙌 On 26 April 2006 the Council of Europe decided to launch a Data Protection Day to be celebrated each year on 28 January, the date on which the Council of Europe’s data protection convention, known as “Convention 108”, was opened for signature. Data Protection Day is now celebrated globally and is called Privacy Day outside Europe. 🔒 Data Protection Day raises awareness about the importance of safeguarding personal data in the increasingly data-driven world.
