Integrity Capital Advisers team was delighted to attend and speak at the recent Innovation Zero conference in London. With an impressive number of participants there was great energy throughout the two days. Check out our takeaways from the 2 sessions! The inaugural forum on Oceans and Water where Karin Berardo spoke on the opportunities for #naturebasedsolutions was very well attended reflecting a strong interest on the subject. Panellists addressed a broad brushstroke of key issues to help frame the day including: - The need to set the context for a country’s NbS goals and funding targets by implementing comprehensive marine spatial planning that includes multi-stakeholder engagement to define appropriate activities for conservation and development across Exclusive Economic Zones - The role of innovative financing mechanisms including sovereign blue bonds and debt conversions, blended finance to support private activities and Public Private Partnerships, Marine Carbon Dioxide Removals (MCDR), and funding mechanisms for marine protected areas. - Torsten Thiele of the Global Ocean Trust shared exciting developments with the Blue Carbon Accelerator Fund at IUCN - Jill Storey of the World Ocean Council provided insights and challenges around expanding MCDR applications in near- and off-shore ocean settings.  Randall Purcell at Seafields described the work they are doing to convert invasive sargassum into carbon solutions During the session on Governmental carbon and Article 6 in the Carbon Forum where Edit Kiss spoke alongside John M. from Quantum Commodity Intelligence, Valerio Magliulo from Abatable and Hugh Salway from Gold Standard, the panellists agreed that: - The linkages are now inevitable and important to keep an eye on the compliance development for various stakeholders including project developers, investors, buyers and service providers.  - However, with the slow process and lack of demand signals for Art6, #VCM and carbon finance remains our main tool to drive private finance and catalyse transition to sustainable land use and sustainable infrastructure in the Global South.  - Corresponding Adjustments need to be carefully considered for Host Countries and represent an additional layer of risk for companies, but infrastructure is developing fast for letter of authorisations in several countries as mentioned by Gold Standard. Our teammate Ciara Durkin recently attended the INREV Annual Conference 2024 in Berlin and brought back valuable insights into the real estate investment sector's evolving landscape. Here are some key takeaways:   🌱 ESG Prioritisation: While ESG factors are gaining recognition, there's still reluctance to fully prioritise them. The audience expressed a need for robust data solutions and technical advisory services to facilitate ESG implementation. 🌱 Innovative Financial Models: Discussions highlighted an interest in innovative financial models like discounted modelling to support investment decisions, emphasising investors' focus on ROI. 🌱 Economic Outlook: There were compelling insights into the economic outlook, projecting stable employment and dismissing immediate recession risks in Europe. A shift towards higher real interest rates is anticipated, challenging the notion of 'Secular Stagnation.' 🌱 Sustainable Investment: Growing interest in nuclear energy and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) highlighted the importance of sustainable investment strategies amid economic shifts and geopolitical tensions. 🌱 Adaptive Strategies: The conference served as a forum for discussing adaptive strategies in a changing real estate investment landscape, with cautious optimism prevailing despite ongoing concerns about market conditions in Europe and the US.   The INREV Annual Conference 2024 provided a rich platform for exploring the future of real estate investment and we’re looking forward to attending more INREV events in the future!

Delighted to further the collaboration between the TotalEnergies High Potential Programme and École de guerre Debating Programme for a fourth year to delve into crucial energy discussions. The debating tournament warms up with two initial rounds, each lasting an hour and addressing thought-provoking motions. Officers and TotalEnergies executives, paired into blended teams, brought a spectrum of perspectives to the table, engaging in dynamic debates discussing whether #Deglobalisation would pose more harm than benefit for #Humanity and if #GenerativeAI should be a key part of efforts to build an environmentally #SustainableEnergySector. Following the judges’ deliberation, the victorious pairs from these rounds emerged; ready to face off in a final debate on whether #EnergySecurity should be prioritised over #CarbonNeutrality. I had the honor of presenting at the 2024 EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) event in Oslo 🌍. Yesterday I had the great pleasure to present our work on ProDecs to the Equinor corporate management team including CEO Anders Opedal. In order to reach net zero by 2050 the entire energy system must be restructured. This demands vast amounts of investments. But how to make sure that these investments pay off given all the uncertainties surrounding each individual project?
