I am ecstatic to share my acceptance into Florida State University College of Law's Donald J. Weidner Summer for Undergraduates Program! Thank you, Amanda Weiss and Dean Maria del Mar Galindo, for helping me along the way. As the oldest and largest program of its kind, I will have the opportunity to learn from law professors, engage in law school preparation workshops, and expose myself to the law through field learning. I am grateful for this valuable chance to deepen my knowledge in the legal field. #fsu #law

First Day of the New Semester - Time for new beginnings! Today is the first day of our Spring Semester at the University of Baltimore School of Law, I start the day with professional responsibility! Many of you probably have returned or are in the process of returning from winter break. 1Ls - Use this new beginning. - If you didn't like your grades last semester use this time to reflect on what did and did not work. - If you were happy with your grades, find a way to keep up what you have been doing. Now is not the time to get complacent, I am only speaking from experience here. - Try to find at least one topic covered in each class to get excited about. Law is a fascinating subject, but some of the subjects can be a bit dry. Some professors can make a dry subject fun and others can make a fun subject dry. I have always found that if I kept something interesting for myself it helped. - If you got behind on any particular thing last semester make sure that you have a plan in place for it not to happen this semester. What class are you most excited about this semester? I'm excited about a master class in trial advocacy I'm taking between the two Maryland law schools this semester. #1Ls #lawstudents #LawSchool

The CLEO team is hard at work shaping the future attorneys of the new academic year! We're taking a break from our usual grind to come together and recharge, so that we can come back even stronger and ready to make a difference. We're going to have some fun, bond as a team, and learn from each other. Working from our Alexandria, Va. headquarters we're brainstorming new ideas and strategies for how we can make an even bigger impact on the lives of our students. We're especially excited for this upcoming year because we're going to be working hard to prepare and guide pre-law students on their "road to law school." We know that it's a daunting journey, but we're here to help every step of the way. We're going to provide them with the resources and support they need to succeed, and we're going to help them make their dreams a reality. It's going to be a bold and brighter year for CLEO and our Students! CLEO STAFF: Juan Carlos "J.C." Polanco, Esq., MBA President & Chief Executive Officer Leigh R. I chose DePaul College of Law for its outstanding reputation and deep connections within the Chicago legal community. My roles as an associate editor of Law Review and an active member of the Student Bar Association provided invaluable writing, networking and career development opportunities. The career services team offered excellent interview guidance, and the strong alumni involvement in the Chicago trial lawyers' community has been crucial in shaping my career. Additionally, the classes are rigorous, the professors are highly engaged and committed to student success, and the student body is exceptional. If given the chance, I would choose DePaul again in a heartbeat! Go Blue Demons! #DePaulLawProud -Caitlin Barry (JD '21) Attorney, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP

The conceptualization of “when the time is right” will impede your ability to be present. If it feels like you should then follow your intuition. Resonated far too well with this post!
When I started the law school process, there were moments I had some doubt: “You’re too old to go back to school” “Your time has passed” “You can’t work full time and attend law school” I was able to overcome this self doubt by reminding myself that the years will go by whether I go to law school or not. Time is unforgiving. If you are on the fence about doing something, this is your sign to do it! - Write that book - Apply to that job - Change careers - Take that class/training Whatever it may be, it is never too late as long as you are breathing! Do not let self-doubt stop you from getting to where you want to be. With that in mind, I want to share that I will be attending Loyola Law School, Los Angeles this fall!
