The Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Wrestling experience is the very bastion of NCAA Division III athletics. There are few college options that have four-year hands-on applied technology or trade based educational models with NCAA athletics offerings. The graduates we produce fulfill a growing need in the workforce, and Penn College’s athletic experience fits a growing need for young people - Young people who love the trades and technical fields and don’t want to compromise being high level student-athletes at the NCAA level. The opportunities here at Penn College provide access for young men like Isaac Cory to inspire a new standard while pursuing national excellence. The only freshman in his national bracket, Isaac Cory made history by earning the first NCAA Championships berth in Penn College wrestling history. Despite being hospital bed ridden following a hernia surgery late in the season, the freshman recovered in less than six weeks to give himself a shot at national prominence. This feat almost wasn’t going to be possible since Isaac didn’t want the traditional four-year college experience. The freshman almost forgoed college to become a lineman. When he learned that Penn College offered the hands-on experience he desired, plus a competitive NCAA Wrestling experience, it was a no brainer. Thanks to Jimmy Naprstek’s and his company Kodiak Creative for spending time with us at the 2023 Division III Wrestling Championships in Roanoke to tell Isaac’s story. Special shout out to a great colleague and friend in Josh Malave - The DIII College Wrestling landscape is lucky to have someone of his caliber represent our coaching body on the Championships Committee to advocate for the best interests of our student-athletes and programs. 🎥 All production credits to Jimmy Naprstek and Kodiak Creative - The mastermind behind the 2023 Division I NCAA Wrestling Championships dynamic content in Tulsa, Oklahoma this past weekend 🔥

Penn College Wrestlers rose to the national top 25 among NCAA Division III programs for team GPA while two wrestlers earn Scholar All-America honors, announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) on Wednesday, April 10th. As a team, the Wildcats landed at No. 23 as a program in their first appearance in the national academic honor conversation. Noah Hunt becomes the first four-time NWCA Scholar All-American in program history, while freshman Travis Green earned his first NWCA Scholar All-American nod. Hunt secured his fourth honor by earning his third consecutive NCAA Mideast Regional medal and had a win percentage above 66% with above a 3.2 cumulative GPA. Green eclipsed his first award by medaling in his first appearance at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships and having a win percentage greater than 66% with above a 3.2 cumulative GPA. Yet another milestone achieved on the relentless pursuit of excellence - It’s the #WildcatWay.

A fun and rewarding season is in the books with much to build on! Penn College wrestling and our student-athletes achieved many great feats in the 2023-2024 campaign that includes the largest roster in program history, third consecutive semester with a 3.2 team GPA, our first team national ranking, a program record of seven wrestlers ranked in the NCAA Mideast Region, first tournament team championship, first nationally ranked dual win, first conference team trophy, first individual conference champion, and much more. Showing consistent progress under a new era in the last two seasons, our student-athletes experienced milestone heights in consecutive campaigns including back to back seasons with nine or more dual wins, back to back seasons with at least three NCAA All-Region wrestlers, back to back seasons with a wrestler in the top ten in the nation for most pins, and back to back seasons with four wrestlers that earned all-conference honors. Bright future ahead - it’s the #WildcatWay!

For the second consecutive season, three of our wrestlers finished among the top eight in their respective weights at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships to earn All-Region honors. It marked the first time in program history with back-to-back seasons with at least three regional medalists. Freshman Kaden Ware knocked off a returning NCAA Championships Qualifier from SUNY Cortland and No. 4 Seed from The College of New Jersey to become just the second freshman in program history to reach the regional semi-final. Alongside Ware, Travis Green at 165lbs finished eighth by upending opponents from Scranton, Elmira, and RIT. It marked the first time Penn College ever had two freshman podium on the regional stage. Junior, Noah Hunt became the program’s first ever three time NCAA Regional Medalist. Congratulations, Noah, Travis, and Kaden - Future is bright!

Though it didn’t reflect in the outcome, Penn College Wrestling took a step forward with the execution of hosting the Billtown Brawl in a historic event, turnout, and venue! The energy around our program is reaching the next level and development of our young team is evident. Thankful for all that came to support. I’m grateful that our program, Pennsylvania College of Technology, and the Penn College owned Community Arts Center can be the standard bearer for hosting an impactful event like this among college wrestling programs based in Pennsylvania - it’s the #WildcatWay!
