For a message as important as recycling right, we had to go big to spread the word! Keep an eye out for Orange County Utilities' new trailer banners, which warn against bad recycling practices. Do your part by keeping non-recyclable monsters like plastic bags, Styrofoam, and rechargeable batteries out of the blue lid cart. Look up the best disposal method for your items at ocfl.net/WhatGoesWhere.

  • A large white semi-truck hauling a trailer with the slogan "KEEP FOOD OUT OF RECYCLING" printed on its side, driving past a grassy area with partly cloudy skies.
  • Semi-truck with a trailer preparing to drive into a transfer station loading area, featuring text that reads "Rechargeable batteries can cause fires" and "DON'T TRASH THEM."
  • A semi-truck with a trailer that has a "DON'T BAG IT - KEEP ALL PLASTIC BAGS & WRAPS OUT OF YOUR RECYCLING CART" banner, parked at the landfill, with scattered refuse and excavation equipment in the background.
  • Solid Waste worker on an aerial lift platform covering the top of a trailer that has a large banner on the side that reads "KEEP STYROFOAM OUT OF YOUR RECYCLING CART," with additional text "ocfl.net/WhatGoesWhere" and the Orange County Utilities logo.

What percentage of recycled products are actually recycled!? ♻️

Yes, we have to get it right. No pizza boxes (because the grease permeates the corrugated). No bags (because the optical scanners that sort paper, plastic and metal can't see what's inside the bags). No "*Freshness Guaranteed" containers (because they have food residues).
