“The collection and storage of employee data is increasingly the norm,” says Jisha Dymond, chief ethics and compliance officer at OneTrust. “How a company decides to handle that data is now one of the many factors–in addition to culture, accountability, transparency, and more–impacting employee trust.” Many leaders recognize and embrace the importance of protecting employee data. Fewer are aware that the businesses could be approaching a “cliff” as it relates to employee trust and data. Dymond adds, “The benefits of being a trusted organization are widely accepted, but the focus can often skew toward consumers.
