Check out our latest mural as part of the Community Mural Project run by our health system’s Arts in Medicine department. The mural, Seasons of Reciprocity at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, was developed by artist Cindy Lozito. Seasons of Reciprocity is one of 7 new murals that will be created this year, adding to 37 murals created at NYC Health + Hospitals since 2019. Seasons of Reciprocity is a three-panel mural using a mix of vibrant and muted colors to convey both hope and calm for the patients and families of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and inpatient pediatric unit and the staff who provide them with comfort and care each day. The themes of care, home, and intergenerational community are central to this mural. This project is made possible through the support of the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund. https://on.nyc.gov/3VVWfyH

We are honored to share that NYC Health + Hospitals has been recognized as a 2024 WellBeing First Champion for its efforts to remove invasive mental health questions on physician credentialing applications. The award was given by ALL IN: WellBeing First for Healthcare, a coalition of major healthcare organizations led by The Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Thrive Global, and the CAA Foundation. NYC Health + Hospitals is one of 19 health systems nationwide recognized by the coalition. According to a 2023 survey by the Physicians Foundation, 4 in 10 physicians were either afraid or knew another physician fearful of seeking mental health care given questions asked in applications for medical licensure, credentialing, or insurance: https://on.nyc.gov/3LgTdz6.
