Hello friends and colleagues. I am still on the hunt for a new role and would greatly appreciate any connections, advice, good vibes, etc. that you could offer. On top of sending out several applications per day, I've been reaching out to recruiters and exploring both temp and freelance opportunities. To date, the bulk of my experience has been in video operations / production / post-production. I've worked on everything from feature-length films and TV shows to corporate and branded content. While continuing to work in these spaces would be ideal, the reality is that the media landscape is drastically different from what it was even a few short years ago. Thus, "Adapt or perish". With this in mind, I've expanded my search to include entry-level opportunities in customer support, account management, and corporate communications (ideally within the digital ad space, but I'm very open). My previous role allowed me to gain a foundational understanding of the programmatic ad ecosystem, and I'm eager for opportunities to learn more. I have a track record of being adaptable, integrating into new teams, and learning quickly. Overall, I've been keeping busy. While job-searching, I've been working towards earning a certification as a Salesforce admin and have started learning SQL. I've also been assembling the building blocks for Hidden Wire Visuals, a business specializing in product photography / videography for lifestyle brands. I turned my spare room into a studio, and have been slowly putting together a portfolio for potential clients. The plan is to focus mostly on wellness products (skincare, cosmetics, fragrances, etc.) & luxury goods, but I'm happy to chat with anyone who wants to expand their brand's visual presence. That will probably take another few months to officially launch, but I've cut together a little teaser trailer to put out into the ether, so it's at least in people's heads. Lastly, if you'vee also going through the wringer of trying to find a new job, I see you. I've felt all the feelings and more. It's brutal. But somewhere through the metaphorical fog, there is the "other side" in the form of a new gig. You will get there. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
