This week marks two years since the launch of the Kigali Declaration on #NTDs, a landmark partnership between countries, philanthropies, and the private sector to beat neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) by 2030. Thanks to strong country leadership and collective action, 51 countries have now eliminated at least one NTD – helping more kids stay in school, enabling women to join the workforce, and lifting entire families out of poverty. With continued partnership, the world can accelerate progress on NTDs and ultimately create a more equitable world. Breaking the Barriers: It's time to stop talking and start acting together! Have you noticed how many groups in #Pakistan is working hard to fight climate change? It's awesome, right? But here's the thing we're missing out on something important. Pakistan is overflowing with non-for-profit organizations, youth groups, and think tanks dedicated for #socialwellbeing. But It seems like everyone is doing their own things, and no one is really keen on working together. We don’t like unified and joint work for the same cause! They might say they're interested, but then they don't follow through. It's time to break this cycle of apathy. We must prioritize collective action over individual interests for a sustainable future. Let's stop working in silos and start collaborating. Share information instead of keeping it to yourself. Taking credit might feel good, but it could affect the cause. Let's work together, share what we know, and support each other. #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #ClimateGovernance #ClimateGender #NGOs #INGOs #CEOs

#sporg9years 🌍☂️ How do #partnerships contribute to ending poverty (#SDG1) and hunger (#SDG2)? These goals focus on crucial targets like expanding social protection, ensuring access to basic services, ending malnutrition, boosting smallholder farmers' income, and strengthening resilience in vulnerable communities and agricultural practices. 🖊️ To celebrate nine years of socialprotection.org, we've published a new blog post exploring the vital role of partnerships in achieving these goals. Discover how initiatives like the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, proposed by Brazil's G20 presidency (2024), revitalise SDGs 1 and 2. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dYQmDb97 ✍️ "By mobilizing diverse stakeholders, the Alliance seeks to create synergies that can overcome the barriers posed by fragmented approaches to development. This collective approach is crucial, as no single entity can address the multifaceted challenges of hunger and poverty in isolation," says the authors, Fabio Veras Soares (Ipea, Ministry of Planning and Budget of Brazil), Mariana Balboni (socialprotection.org/UNRISD), Isabela Nunes Franciscon (socialprotection.org/UNRISD). 🔗 Read the full blog post here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dYQmDb97 #sporg #SDGs #SDG1 #SDG2 #EndPoverty #EndHunger #SocialProtection #Partnerships #CollaborateForChange #Humanrights

Program Coordinator | Operations Specialist | Leveraging Research and Data to Advocate for Sustainable Policies
Looking at Kenya, and Africa as a whole, it is evident that a thorough evaluation of the current systems will be critical to realizing our potential and tackling the myriad of challenges that plague the continent. However, a systemic change can take years, and it requires a true commitment from all stakeholders to a long-term strategy that is aimed at the continent’s betterment. But what about the woman with three children who hasn’t eaten in three days? Do we genuinely believe that her concern is a systemic review in the coming years? How then can we bridge the gap between pursuing long-term, sustainable goals and addressing immediate societal needs? Read my thoughts here: https://lnkd.in/dqrmqRy8
