Jim Nicolls, finance division manager for the Morris/Sussex Vicinage, retired at the end of July after more than 24 years of service with the Judiciary. Having spent his entire career with the vicinage, Jim held several positions in the Finance Division before becoming the manager. Here’s Jim with his successor, Karen Rose, during his retirement celebration. The Judiciary wishes both the best of luck in their new endeavors.

Staff members from the Union Vicinage Ombudsman Office hosted five high school seniors from the Academy for Law and Justice at the Union County Vocational Technical High School in Scotch Plains as part of a five-week summer internship program. During the five weeks, students toured and learned about the various divisions in the judiciary, including family, criminal, civil, and probation. They also observed live court proceedings, met with court staff and judges, and toured the Family Justice Center, the county jail, the prosecutor’s office, and the crime scene unit.

The Burlington Vicinage’s criminal, family, and probation divisions came together last week to celebrate the work the divisions do for their clients, the vicinage, and the community. The weeklong celebration consisted of games, theme days, a luau luncheon, and a sweet Sugar Crawl!

Superior Court staff in Atlantic County today participated in their monthly Atlantic City Bus Station outreach program, which allows staff to assist court users address outstanding bench warrants, begin the expungement process, and obtain other necessary court information. The outreach is held on the last Tuesday of every month.

The Camden Vicinage celebrated Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week with multiple events last week, which included pretzel day, pizza lunch and dessert contest, and water ice day. The vicinage also held an employee appreciation for all staff with Mr. Softee.
