[The HIV Action Plan monitoring and evaluation framework reports measure progress towards England’s long-term commitment to end HIV transmission by 2030. These annual reports specifically focus on the interim ambitions of England’s HIV Action Plan 2022 to 2025 to reduce HIV diagnosis first made in England by (80%), AIDS-defining conditions diagnosed within 90 days of HIV diagnosis (by 50%) between 2019 and 2025. This report summarises progress from 2019 to 2022.]

The first steps towards ensuring a world without AIDS include:1. *Increase awareness and education*: Educate people about HIV/AIDS, its transmission, prevention, and treatment.2. *Improve access to HIV testing*: Make HIV testing widely available, accessible, and affordable.3. *Provide antiretroviral therapy (ART)*: Ensure universal access to ART for all people living with HIV.4. *Prevent mother-to-child transmission*: Implement programs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.5. *Implement harm reduction strategies*: Provide access to needle exchange programs, safe injection sites, and opioid substitution therapy.6. *Promote condom use and safe sex practices*: Encourage safe sex practices and provide access to condoms.7. *Address stigma and discrimination*: Work to reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.8. *Support research and development*: Continuously fund research for new treatments, vaccines, and prevention methods.9. *Strengthen healthcare systems*: Ensure healthcare systems are equipped to provide quality HIV services.10. *Mobilize communities and resources*: Engage communities, governments, and organizations to prioritize HIV/AIDS efforts.These initial steps lay the groundwork for a comprehensive response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, ultimately moving us closer to a world without AIDS.

The FDA has approved the use of Dovato in treating HIV-1 infection in adolescents aged 12 and above weighing at least 25 kg. This approval is a significant milestone, as it is the first oral, two-drug, single-tablet regimen available for adolescents living with HIV. Dovato is a combination of dolutegravir and lamivudine, which work together to inhibit the virus at two different stages of its replication cycle. Based on data from the DANCE study, the majority of adolescents who took Dovato achieved and maintained viral suppression for 48 weeks. The safety and efficacy of Dovato in adolescents were comparable to those observed in adults, with no clinically significant adverse effects noted despite higher exposures to the components of Dovato. This expanded indication for Dovato provides adolescents with a more convenient and effective treatment option that requires fewer medications. It underscores ViiV Healthcare’s commitment to developing and delivering innovative therapies for people living with HIV, including young people. To improve care for people living with #HIV, Ukraine aims to deliver a guaranteed package of services at the primary health care level. But are PHC facilities in Ukraine prepared to offer person-centered, integrated HIV services? And if not, what do they need to get there? 🚗 We traveled the country to find out. The PATH-led, USAID-funded Re-envisioning Excellence and Accessibility in Clinic-based HIV Services (REACH 95) Activity is working with the government of Ukraine to increase equitable access to high-quality HIV care. To kick off the project, our team visited 62 health care facilities in 16 regions to conduct in-person and virtual baseline assessments on the current landscape of HIV service delivery, as well as gaps and needs. REACH 95’s goal is in its name: ensuring that 95% of people living with HIV know their HIV status, 95% of people who know their status are receiving HIV treatment, and 95% of people on treatment are virally suppressed by 2030. This innovative approach has the potential to revolutionize HIV prevention, making it more accessible and convenient for those at risk. Current HIV prevention methods, like daily oral PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), have proven effective but require strict adherence to daily medication, which can be challenging for many individuals. The new twice-yearly injection aims to address this issue by providing a long-acting solution that reduces the burden of daily medication and improves adherence rates. So how does it work? The injection works by delivering a sustained release of antiretroviral drugs that help prevent the virus from establishing an infection. This method not only simplifies the prevention process but also offers a discreet and less intrusive option compared to daily pills.
