Yesterday I spent the day at an onsite/offsite with my leads, thinking about the future. :) As we look ahead to 2025, we're approaching Microsoft’s 50th anniversary—an opportunity for us to celebrate a bit all the accomplishments that got us here, but more importantly to think about the next 50 years. Stay tuned! As always, we grounded our planning broadly against three key areas. First, how do we continue navigating the changing nature of influence, and by so doing ensure we are reaching the people and organizations we care about most effectively? Second, how do we continue investing in trust as a core piece of all our storytelling? And finally, what are the stories we tell at scale about how individuals and companies are using the incredible new tools we're bringing to market in new and interesting ways? It can be hard to carve out big chunks of time as a leads team to get out of the present and re-ground in the themes and activities that will have the most impact, not tomorrow, but months from now! But it's incredibly rewarding (what a great/smart/funny group of people) and sets us up for long term success, whatever the world throws at us.

Today marks my 18th anniversary with Microsoft! 🎉 In my almost 30-year career, I've been incredibly fortunate to seize countless opportunities, meet amazing people, and learn so much along the way. Reflecting on my journey, I'd like to share my top 5 career tips that have guided me: 💫 Stay curious! Embrace opportunities and changes with an open mind. Curiosity sparks creativity, drives continuous learning, and leads to exciting new paths. 💫 Be consistent! Maintain your efforts, even when faced with difficulties. Consistency strengthens resilience and equips you to tackle challenges. Keep going, you've got this! 💫 Be brave! Challenge yourself, even when it feels nerve-racking. Stepping out of your comfort zone is where growth happens. 💫 Stay humble! Recognize that there are always people around you who know more. Embrace learning from others and value their expertise. 💫 Be kind! Kindness opens hearts and minds, laying the foundation for all meaningful interactions. It fosters trust, encourages collaboration, and creates a supportive environment where all positives are amplified and all negatives are muffled ❤️ Grateful to everyone who has crossed my path and contributed to my journey. Your influence and wisdom have been truly invaluable.

One question guided my career journey at Microsoft: Who do you want to be and what experiences do you want to create? Long ago, I asked a colleague how he drives his career. He laughed. He said he just focuses on working with great people on great things. And he works backwards from what experiences he wants to create. And what great people does he want to work with. I asked, really, that's it? Yes, that's it. When I thought about it more, I realized it was more powerful than it might sound. Imagine creating a portfolio of epic adventures with great people, doing great thing to look back on. The other piece I wanted here though was to grow better over time. So, I connected with my Future Self to figure out who do I want to become. This set the stage for an incredibly transformational journey. It's my North Start that pulls me forward. Just two months away from celebrating my three-year anniversary at Google already? 🙂↕️ Time flies! It feels like just yesterday I was that nervous newbie in a pre-sales role, a world away from my deeply hands-on DevOps zone (which became a comfy zone after four years of learning and struggles). But hey, growth happens outside your comfort zone, right? What have I learned? One day you feel you can't do it, and without your knowledge, you're already a part of some customer success story. With time, I grew to embrace the challenges and rewards of becoming a trusted Google Cloud Architect who listens and delivers what truly benefits the customer. While I am still very much hands-on in building cloud-based solutions, what's different is that I gained a new perspective on the business side, seeing firsthand how technology accelerates business growth —✌🏻 Now, when I'm part of conferences, panels, or even impromptu conversations with leaders, I understand the context and have an opinion. I feel that's a major win (at least for me)! What made this year special in this role? 🥁, please... I received the President's Cloud Club 2024 Award (a major pinch me moment)! It's definitely a testament to the hard work and dedication of my entire team, and I'm deeply grateful for the support of customers, partners, leaders, and colleagues who have all played a big part in this success. Completed two amazing years 🙌🙌🙌 Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the growth opportunities and challenges i got here. Here are 3 things I loved during my time here: 1. Embracing a growth mindset: Learning to fail early and continuously improve has been transformative. I have heard a lot about this concept before joining here but the way Microsoft implements it by providing right environment is praise worthy.Understanding that perfection is a journey, not a destination, has been key to personal growth. 2. Space for innovation: Amidst our busy schedules, Microsoft fosters an environment for innovation. Participating in hackathons has been an exciting way to explore new ideas. I have participated around 4 fhl and 2 hackathons .Proud to have won the people's choice award last year! 3. Team collaboration: Working with a supportive team has been the highlight of my experience. Each member's contribution has been invaluable, and together, we have achieved great things. It's been a while since I shared an update here. This past period has been especially hard, and I know many of us are facing challenging times. For me, the last two years have been a roller coaster, both personally and professionally. But amid the challenges, Sujud and I were blessed to welcome our first daughter, Jana! 💓🥳 Born in May 12th, she's brought us a level of happiness and love we never imagined! We keep our prayers for everyone awaiting their first child — may you all be blessed soon. #alhamdulillah On the professional side, after spending 3 months with Jana and Sujud, I'm thrilled to share that I’ve recently rejoined Microsoft as a Senior Product Manager at Microsoft Fabric, joining the efforts to bring the world's data into the era of AI! This also means Sujud and I are back together at Microsoft, bringing our #MicrosoftFamily full circle ✨ (just waiting for the baby positions to open for Jana 😁). I’m deeply grateful for all the friends who have helped me through these hard days, and I want to pay it forward. Last week I hit the 10-year mark at Microsoft and i am overwhelmed with gratitude. This milestone is not just a measure of time (yet to get to terms on completing 10 years) , but a testament to the transformative journey I've experienced. Thank you Irina Ghose for hiring me :-) A heartfelt thank you to my peers, mentors, managers my team & partners - your unwavering support has been the backbone of my professional growth. Together, we've turned challenges into opportunities and dreams into realities and had fun while we were doing it.
