Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural Innovation Day at Tobacco Docks in London. Innovation has been part of our history since we connected the first integrated national grid in the world and it's only growing in importance as the entire industry scales up to shape the clean energy future.
With unprecedented demand growth from the increasing electrification and decarbonisation of global economies, the energy industry has a unique opportunity to innovate to meet those needs. The scale of growth means innovations are critical to help us build smarter, faster, more efficiently, and always with the customer at the heart.
Our innovation and venture capital arm, National Grid Partners, invests in startups to find solutions to the energy transition, and we’re now collaborating across the business to use many of these solutions. We started National Grid Partners with the goal of disrupting ourselves, but innovation can’t happen in isolation – it needs to happen within other networks and across the world.
Thank you to our National Grid Partners portfolio companies, speakers, and innovators outside of the energy industry who joined us to discuss how innovation and collaboration can deliver the energy transition, how we can scale innovation across networks, and innovative approaches driving progress towards net zero.
