This is the tragedy for most wheelchair users using public transport. Mobility should be extended to public transport services. Service providers should consider adapting public transport with automated ramps to allow for easy access into busses, trains and aeroplanes etc. #Disability #NDCN #Inclusivity #Mobility

A message from our CEO, Christi Redfearn: "As a kid, I got to learn about Native American history from my grandfather – he was eager to talk about great chiefs, battles they fought, injustices they overcame, and more. His mom, however, never mentioned her heritage because she was taught that she would be looked down upon if anyone found out. As I got older, and got to work with different Native American advocate groups, I had hope that eventually, we would no longer be ignored. There are many people who have dedicated their lives to making sure the real history isn’t overlooked and that we learn from past mistakes. Because of their efforts, I’d like to think that my great grandmother, if she were still alive, would be able to feel pride in who she was, instead of hide it. That’s what Native American Heritage Month is about – being proud of who you really are, not having to change anything about yourself, or have to explain why you might look different.
