🔴 Survivors of the war in Sudan Over 600,000 people have fled from Sudan to Chad since April 2023, with more people arriving every day. At the Adré border crossing point between Chad and Sudan, we vaccinate children, screen for malnutrition, and organise referrals for patients who need further care. These are photos of some of the survivors currently seeking refuge in eastern Chad. Read their stories 👇 https://lnkd.in/e_dAKx38 📸: Corentin Fohlen

Seven-year-old Omar resorted to eating grass due to food shortages in Gaza, resulting in his hospitalisation due to severe pain. A video shared by Unicef shows the Palestinian boy receiving treatment for malnutrition. Unicef spokesperson Tess Ingram also added that Omar is one of many children undergoing treatment at al-Aqsa Hospital for malnutrition. UN agency for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa) reported that one in three children under two in northern Gaza is acutely malnourished. Last month, Unicef stated that over 13,000 children have been killed by Israel as a result of its ongoing war on Gaza, with at least 23 succumbing to malnutrition. Israel faces accusations of employing starvation as a weapon of the genocide.

As a Sudanese dedicated to humanitarian and development efforts, I am passionately committed to advocating for the well-being of my compatriots amid the ongoing crisis in Sudan. The scale of displacement, predominantly affecting women and children, who make up nearly 90% of those fleeing the violence, is not just a statistic but a stark reminder of the human cost of conflict. From my position, I've been closely monitoring the situation and engaging with international partners to mobilize support for the Sudanese refugees who are now seeking safety across borders, especially in Chad. The generosity of host communities, despite their limited resources, is a testament to human solidarity. Yet, despite the efforts of organizations like UNICEF, which are providing clean water, healthcare, and educational support, the needs far exceed the available assistance. This crisis, one of the largest child displacement crises in the world, demands more than just acknowledgment—it requires a collective and urgent response from the global community. As we push for more awareness, it's crucial to remember that behind every number is a story of a child, a woman, or a family torn from their home, dreaming of safety and stability. The resilience of the Sudanese people, amidst such despair, inspires a call to action. I urge my network, stakeholders, and the international community to amplify their support, to transform our collective empathy into tangible aid that reaches those in dire need. Let's stand together for Sudan, advocating for peace, protection, and the provision of essential services to those displaced. Your awareness, engagement, and action can pave the way toward a brighter, more hopeful future for countless lives affected by this crisis. UNICEF Sudan – اليونيسف في السودان UNICEF
Hundreds of thousands of people fleeing violence in Sudan have been seeking safety and shelter across the border in Chad. Nearly 90 per cent of them are women and children. Our Spokesperson, James Elder, was recently in Adre, Chad, and saw how local residents have been generously sharing their limited resources, while UNICEF has been providing clean water, health infrastructure, and medicine. But it is far from enough. Share this video to bring more awareness to the world’s largest child displacement crisis.

#AirDropAidForGaza #neveragain #freepalestine #onestatesolution #BDStheUS #movetheUN #honourthetreaties #honorthetreaties #InvokeThe6th A way toward regional peace. A way forward so starving people can be fed: The USA should be removed from the UN Security Council for aiding and abetting genoc!de. As a terrorist occupying force, I$rael should be cut off from the $14 Billion plus welfare that it receives annually from Uncle Sam (and our taxes). The US actively opposes the security of Palestinian civilians and should no longer sit on the UNSC with over-riding, abused, veto power. There is a mechanism for removal of “Security” Council members whose nations fail by promoting genocide. Article 6 of the UN Charter allows for any member of the UN to be expelled – even if they sit on the Security Council – for persistently violating the principles of the United Nations. The General Assembly should unite on this point and remove the USA from the UN, for the good of all. Let us move the UN headquarters, fund the UN independently, and admit First Nations (Native American nations and others) to the new UN! As a US citizen, I do not support my nation’s genoc!dal ways. As someone else recently wrote: …✍🏻In the 75 years since the UN was founded, no country has violated the principles of the UN Charter more than the United States of America. This is exemplified in the case of Palestine, where a ceasefire and an end to the genocide is persistently prevented by the United States, which cynically uses its veto power in the Security Council to overrule the will of the majority. Symbolic demonstrations are important, but focused action with a tangible goal is even more so. This is why it is time to demand the invocation of Article 6 – to expel the U.S. from the United Nations. … We call for the expulsion of the United States from the United Nations because that is a real objective that may not only result in a ceasefire in Gaza but can also invite much-needed reform of the United Nations and Security Council. To this end, we invite all those who desire an end to the tyranny of injustice to join our movement to Invoke the 6th Let’s demand that our leaders rule with justice and integrity. Let’s demand that all member states have a meaningful voice on the international stage. Let’s act for change. Let’s do it now! It is time for the world to say enough is enough… #InvokeThe6th 👉🏼Official Campaign: https://invokethe6th.org/
🔴 UNICEF says that the children in Gaza are screaming for bread and that if immediate food aid is not provided to the children of Gaza, they will sadly perish. 600,000 children living in Rafah camps without food or medicine and under extremely perilous conditions. 90% of children under five are in “severe food poverty”. A similar percentage are affected by infectious diseases, with 70% suffering diarrhoea. 600,000 children close to death 600,000 children close to starvation 600,000 children close to famine 600,000 children close to death from disease 600,000 children have been starved to death by the UK/EU/US 600,000 children are on the brink of death and our taxes paid for it How many children need to die to make people want to speak up?

My latest article! More than 23 000 people killed in Israel's attacks in Gaza. Of the 23 000 Palestinians killed, 9 000 of them were children along with hundreds remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings with little chance of survival, the total number of child deaths is likely to exceed 10,000. At least 6 700 women were killed and another 6 300 other were injured. Since 7 October more than 59 000 Palestinians were injured, more than 8 600 of them being children. Read it to learn more!

Since October 7, more than 3,257 children have been reported killed, including at least 3,195 in #Gaza, 33 in the #WestBank, and 29 in #Israel, according to the Ministries of Health in Gaza and Israel respectively. The number of children reported killed in just three weeks in Gaza is more than the number killed in armed conflict globally—across more than 20 countries—over the course of a whole year, for the last three years. #ceasefirenow https://lnkd.in/eJDUhUKv.

It has been a shame all the time that donors have stopped funding UNRWA. No significant evidence whatsoever has been presented to motivate a defunding. So when Sweden and Canada is now resuming the transfer of funds, we should of course welcome that. But do not forget that aid practitioners are constantly chasing “evidence” and results” by the same politicians that with no evidence at all can stop the same funding on a whim because their political allies say they should. Possibly thousands of lives have been lost due to the defunding of UNRWA. All(!) humanitarian organisations active in Gaza have demanded that UNRWA must continue to be funded and operational. How come that those voices are not respected? How come that Western governments listen more to the party that for decades constantly has broken Internatonal Humanitarian Law, supported land thefts, destruction of infrastructure to support Palestinians basic needs and jailed thousands, including children, without any trials? The evidence is right in front of us. I hear sometimes Westerners claim it was in Europe the origins of Enlightenment and the birth of the modern liberal democracy was established. However they seem to forget that Europe also has been home to the Holocaust and two world wars. Westerners living in democracies have happily engaged in colonial genocides. The indifference to the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank is nothing new. I believe the future writing of history will hold today’s leaders to account. Even if they too late resumed the funding, history will shame them. More importantly, as the 1900s come to a late ending, there are opportunities for a better and more equal world. UNRWA, humanitarians and rights defenders in civil society are in that sense a bridge to that world while, using Gramsci’s words, the monsters fight each other.
Our latest on the situation in the 📍#GazaStrip and the 📍 #WestBank 🔹 Intense Israeli bombardment from air, land & sea continue to be reported across #GazaStrip 🔹 UN Women: 9,000 women reported killed by Israeli forces in #Gaza, not including those believed to be buried under the rubble. 🔹 UNICEF: At least 18 children died from dehydration & malnutrition. OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE FUNDING GENOCIDE, ETHNIC CLEANSING, & APARTHEID. Please watch Glenn Greenwald explain how ISRAEL IS KNOWINGLY KILLING FOREIGN AID WORKERS, INCLUDING AMERICANS, in addition to Palestinian women & children: lnkd.in/g4mKYBEC PLEASE wake up people. This is not a “war”. Israel is committing GENOCIDE & ETHNIC CLEANSING WITH THE WEAPONS WE KEEP GIVING THEM & has now killed OVER 25K WOMEN & CHILDREN (~70% of the dead), according to our own military: lnkd.in/gaMEPKSn Israel has also orphaned over 30K kids, has destroyed the homes of nearly 1M & is still blocking aid to them, killing them WITH STARVATION, DEHYDRATION, & DISEASE, in addition to U.S. supplied bombs. Listen to world renowned professor & public policy expert Jeffrey Sachs explain how ISRAEL IS INTENTIONALLY STARVING OVER 1M CHILDREN. He says “the ICJ will find these acts to be genocidal” & “ the U.S. should immediately stop all munitions for this murderous rampage”: lnkd.in/gy-q3rpR And here is renowned University of Chicago Prof. John Mearsheimer explaining that ISRAEL’S ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO ETHNICALLY CLEANSE BOTH GAZA & THE WEST BANK & get us into a war with Iran, which he says are definitely NOT in our national interest: lnkd.in/g-WcuhSv In this article, I explain how Israel has always been able to beat Hamas & ensure its security WITHOUT KILLING CHILDREN. Sadly, Israel keeps ignoring this option because its goal is not to beat Hamas, but rather to continue using them & similar groups as a pretext to continue ethnically cleansing more of historic Palestine (that's why Israel helped strengthen Hamas for years). In fact, Israel knows that its indiscriminate brutality will only help Hamas & similar groups recruit: lnkd.in/gY98T9mc I also cry for the 38 Israeli children & others killed on Oct 7th, but this horrible conflict did NOT start on that day. The proof is the nearly 2300 Palestinian children killed by Israeli soldiers & settlers between 2000 & Oct 2023, including 43 during the 9 months just before 10/7 (names & details on BTselem.org). Israel has also continued stealing more Palestinian homes & farms in the West Bank EVERY YEAR as part of its 57 year apartheid, & has imposed a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005. ALL illegal, immoral, & ongoing acts of war. That's why EVEN the ex-head of Israel’s Shin Bet (their FBI), Ami Ayalon, & ex-Israeli PM & General, Ehud Barak, BOTH saying IF THEY WERE PALESTINIAN THEY WOULD FIGHT ISRAEL BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE THEIR LIBERTY: lnkd.in/guNE7vay I will keep advocating for nonviolent resistance, but when Palestinians try, IDF soldiers shoot them in the knees, kill them, or at least imprison & beat them. Please read this 2020 Haaretz article titled: '42 Knees in One Day': Israeli Snipers Open Up About Shooting Gaza Protesters: lnkd.in/g4VqQRzs PLEASE CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES to demand they stop helping Israel kill children, ethnically cleans families, & maintain its brutal apartheid WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS.
A UNICEF spokesperson from Gaza: There is a 7-year-old child who ate 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒔 in the northern part of the Strip. Video transcript I was shocked by the children raising their hands. Omar, a seven-year-old, has just arrived from north Gaza and had to eat rats. This is unacceptable, and it's what I fear: many are like Omar, at the age of seven, and they are at risk of being killed. Source https://lnkd.in/e_UNZT_4
