🏅 The Olympics kick off today, and we're so proud to cheer on our Montgomery County athletes! Let's support these incredible Olympians:
- Katie Ledecky (Bethesda) - Competing in her fourth Olympics, Katie is a swimming legend. She’ll be joined by two other swimmers from her high school, Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart.
- Erin Gemmell (Potomac) - At just 19, Erin will compete in the women’s 4x200 relay. Her father coached both her and Ledecky.
- Phoebe Bacon (Chevy Chase) - Competing in her second Olympics, Phoebe will swim in the women’s 200 backstroke.
- Helen Maroulis (Rockville) - A wrestler headed to her third Olympics, Helen made history in 2016 as the first American woman to win gold in wrestling.
- Kyle Snyder (Olney) - Wrestling in his third straight Olympics, Kyle won gold in 2016 and continues to dominate on the world stage.
- Tatiana Nazlymov (Bethesda) - Making her Olympic debut in fencing, Tatiana has already earned international accolades.
- Masai Russell(Potomac) - This 24-year-old set a record for the fastest 100-meter hurdles this year and is ready to compete in Paris.
- Quincy Wilson (Gaithersburg) - At just 16, Quincy will be part of the relay team and aims to become the youngest American to win a track medal.
