One of the most requested features in the past few years, especially in the DoD / IC, is performance in rendering tens to hundreds of thousands of objects. One of the first demos I ever did of OrbPro was what you see in this video, and can check out live at the link in our homepage (https://digitalarsenal.io/) under 'Massive Entity Set'. Generate 100k full entities (camera trackable, etc.) and display them at speed. * [UPDATED] Japan’s SKY Perfect JSAT has launched a new start-up named Orbital Lasers Co., Ltd. to address the growing issue of #SpaceDebris using advanced technology. According to an article in The Register — https://lnkd.in/dKdyVM7G), Orbital Lasers employs a technique called “laser ablation” to remove harmful debris from the Earth’s orbit. The technology needed for this service has been jointly designed by the operator and Japan's renowned Riken research institute. The satellite payload developed by Orbital Lasers emits a laser beam that vaporises a portion of the targeted space object, such as a non-functional satellite. The resulting impulse from the vaporised material is utilised to "detumble" the rotating object and decelerate it, causing it to gradually descend towards Earth and burn up. In addition to debris removal, Orbital Lasers intends to deploy space-based #LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology to offer high-precision ground surface information, which can find applications in various markets. Regarding the LiDAR business, SKY Perfect JSAT and JAXA have entered into a contract for the conceptual study of Earth observation LiDAR satellite systems and future #commercialisation. Far-Range Camera Simulator 🚀 For space rendezvous and inspection the On-Orbit Servicing Group of GSOC #dlr_gsoc developed a high-performance far-range camera simulator. In the short video the target moves along a relative ellipse over one complete orbital period. This simulator will be used in the development of far range navigation algorithms in order to perform the initial approach towards a space object. #OOS #Rendezvous #FarRangeNavigation
