On October 7th, 2024, CISS AJK hosted a #webinar on the #Lebanon's pager explosion and its strategic implications for modern warfare. Moderated by Rimsha Malik , the event brought together experts to discuss the vulnerabilities in communication technologies and the increasing role of cyberattacks in destabilizing states. Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja opened the session, emphasizing the shift from traditional warfare to digital threats targeting national infrastructure. 📍📍Key #discussions included Raza Shah Khan's analysis of cyber warfare's growing prominence and Ali Mustafa’s call for technological independence to mitigate reliance on foreign equipment. Dr. Hassan Tahir But highlighted supply chain vulnerabilities, urging for international cooperation to secure critical technologies. Tahir Naeem Malik stressed the importance of preparing Pakistan for asymmetrical warfare by strengthening cyber defenses. Zohaib Altaf highlighted Mossad's operation against Hezbollah, revealing the risks of compromised devices and calling for AI-powered systems to prevent similar attacks. We had a good discussion at the roundtable on “Indo-Pacific Perspectives on Responsible Cyber Behaviour” organized by Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) and Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) during the Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW). Due to issues such as no universal notion of responsible cyber behavior, different domestic state-society compact, right to self defence vs cyber norm on critical infrastructure, states enlisting proxy actors to widen their cyber offensive options and circumvent rules in national interest, it remains an uphill task to create a rules-based international order in cyberspace including in Indo-Pacific.

These are some samples of the websites my Crime Intelligence teams in the Ridge College of Intelligence Studies and Applied Sciences at Mercyhurst University developed this semester. They chose their own topics, talked to experts and struggled to find sufficient OSINT to compile these websites. It taught them how to think visually, see how difficult it is to BLUF and identify intelligence gaps to help the investigation move forward. As a professional/practitioner and investor , I believe that education and research have a very important contribution to the development of our social infrastructure and society well-being. People may know myself as (only) Cyber Security professional. But, I believe that we should deserved more, especially when we are challenged to create something that give much benefit not only ourselves, but also society. From that point of view, I established two think thank / research and non-profit institution which focus on how to create a safer digital ecosystem Institute of Digital Trust Indonesia (IODTI) and national resilience Center for Intelligence and Defense Strategies (CIDS). We operate in "covert mode", providing our "undercover" thought and contribution for the nation.
