Our dedication to innovation and progress aligns with the ongoing testimony to Victoria’s Legislative Council Economy and Infrastructure Committee, where industry leaders are advocating for reduced regulation and dedicated hemp laws. In May, Legalise Cannabis Victoria MPs Rachel Payne and David Ettershank initiated a parliamentary inquiry to explore how the industrial hemp sector could invigorate the state's economy. The committee is now delving into the barriers and prospects within the industry, with the final report and recommendations expected by November 15, 2023. Currently, only six growers tend to a mere 169 hectares of hemp in the state, but the inquiry reveals the potential for substantial expansion. Hemp's versatility is astonishing, with applications in textiles, paper, construction materials, oils, food, and more. Victoria currently requires growers to obtain licenses from Agriculture Victoria for the cultivation and processing of industrial hemp for non-therapeutic purposes, creating barriers for the industry's expansion. While some level of regulation remains essential to prevent crop contamination and ensure safety, it's time to align with other states and recognise hemp's true potential. #maxineravafoundation #cannabisresearch #curecancer #hopeinresearch #nonprofitorganisation #cannabiscures #fightcancer #makingadifference #cannabisaustralia #canceraustralia

Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) proposed an amendment that would federally ban "all ingestible hemp products with any level of T H C." According to MJ Biz, "That language would render most products containing delta-8 T H C and other novel cannabinoids such as HHC illegal under federal law. That includes T H C A. Yesterday the Mary Miller Amendment was passed without a roll call vote. Meaning voters were left OUT of the decision. Let's remind lawmakers that they represent US. Today marks the deadline date by which Canadian treating facilities can treat with Pentachlorophenol - an oil-borne pesticide used for commodity products such as utility poles and bridge timbers. Why does this matter? - Unlike our counterparts in the US, we do not have alternatives that utility companies are seeking. - Canada's sole family-owned Indigenous treating facility, Vermette Wood Preservers, in Saskatchewan is left with a lot of unknowns. Despite efforts from the Environment Minister for Government of Saskatchewan asking Health Canada | Santé Canada for Perry to deplete his inventory of Pentachlorophenol safely and effectively, the ask remains unanswered. This interview with BNN Bloomberg highlights the industry's unknowns and the need for answers. https://lnkd.in/ePRKbe6x Electricity Canada #utilities #wood #Pentachlorophenol #healthcanada
