Highly qualified workforce is an essential element for R&D and innovation activities. I am pleased to declare that we will start a new project with OECD called Research and Innovation Careers Observatory (ReICO), planned for six years. We held a meeting with OECD authorities to discuss the upcoming schedule, current situation, and data availability last week. The first step will be performing a survey for careers of doctorate holders (CDH) in 2025. The main objective of this survey is to measure the demographic, employment, international and intra-sectoral mobility, and career characteristics of doctorate holders. Afterward, it is planned to structure an administrative record database that includes all undergraduate and above personnel involved in R&D and innovation activities through a digital portal. R&I talent building and enhancing, the marketplace for these professionals, their career dynamics, and talent circulation (brain drain/gain) can be monitored for OECD countries in this portal. Hope the outputs will help the decision-makers and policy analysts. You can find more detailed content from the document below.

The Stakeholder’s Guide to Market Research: Pt3. Agencies vs In-House Researchers These short posts are intended to help conversations between Stakeholders and Market Researchers. Once you have considered your Business Objectives, and written your Research Brief, the next step is to share it with a Researcher. This could be an external Research Agency, or an In-House Researcher. There are many Research Agencies with different specialisms. To help you find the right one, the Market Research Society (MRS) have a 'Research Buyers Guide', or you could get quality recommendations as a member of the Association of Users of Research Agencies (AURA). The biggest benefits of using an Agency can be: • Access to specific skill sets and resources (you may need someone to run a focus group in Spanish) • They will ‘bring the outside in’, by leveraging expertise from projects they have run with other organisations Large organisations will often have research capability in-house. These researchers may conduct the project themselves, or engage an Agency on your behalf. The biggest benefits of in-house researchers are that they: • Understand the business, it’s unique challenges and opportunities, and stakeholder politics • Can utilise the organisations past research, to paint a more complete picture
