This week, the World Semiconductor Council (WSC) held its annual meeting in Miyazaki, Japan, bringing together the leaders of the global semiconductor industry, including CEOs and other executives, heading delegations from semiconductor industry associations of Europe, United States, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei and China. Discussion focused on critical issues facing the global semiconductor industry, including talent and skills development, environmental sustainability, free and open markets, and intellectual property policies.   During the meeting, the #WSC emphasized the importance of fostering a skilled workforce to meet the growing demands of the semiconductor sector. Discussions also focused on advancing environmental initiatives to ensure sustainable manufacturing processes and improving safety and health practices across the industry. Leaders stressed the need for fair trade policies based on transparency and non-discrimination, and robust protection of intellectual property to drive innovation and maintain competitive markets in a global level playing field. The collaborative efforts and strategic discussions at the WSC meeting in Miyazaki aim to strengthen the global semiconductor industry's resilience and growth in the face of evolving challenges.
