This comes in many ways, some #rewards are #monetary while others are #inkind, some leave a greater #impact and some #encourage you to go #aboveandbeyondthecallofduty. Genuinely cannot believe it has been 5 years since I started at The Distance! I know a common question is where do you see yourself in 5 years time? I think it is impossible to answer that question, because so much changes within 1 year, let alone 5! At The Distance, I have worked as a Project Manager, Account Manager and now Head of Partner Success. I have learnt a huge amount from everyone I have worked with, but particular shout-outs to: Anthony Main - some of what he says about stays lodged in my brain, and I find myself regurgitating knowledge, passing it off as my own of course! Louise Toal - The Distance - Listening to what I think are genius thoughts and then actually advising a better approach... Gemma Oliver - Creating the structure that makes the sales-to-project life so much easier and always someone I can bounce off. James Paton - Always asks a great question and has a different way of thinking, which again, I have shamelessly stolen to pass off as my own Plus of course, everyone else I have worked with whilst at The Distance, too many to mention, but I have learnt something from all of you! Finally, within the last year or so I have had the opportunity to work with Fiona Chorlton-Voong and Ryan Hall learning about Marketing and Sales outreach, which has been invaluable. I have really appreciated them answering my questions and keeping things simple! Here is to the next 5 years!

🥳 WORK ANNIVERSARY 🥳 3 years ago I started this job, and when 3 years could seem not much in one's work life, those 3 past years were very radical on my side. As the video shows, I started as a simple junior 'on my own' with no one to manage and the team quickly grew to manage over 10 people today (missing some people on the video!) If I have to look back over these three years, 3 words come to mind: challenging, teaching and out of my comfort zone. Over and above my team-leading and recruitment skills, these three years have taught me 'life' skills that have helped me in both my professional and personal life: 1️⃣ Knowing how to take advice and, above all, applying it without questioning it and trusting experienced people; 2️⃣ On the other hand, questioning yourself on a weekly or even daily basis; 3️⃣ Being open-minded about the opinions of others and the situations in which people may find themselves; 4️⃣ And finally, working in an 'agile' way and knowing that no situation is fixed and that you have to adapt to change; In short, 3 great enriching years in which I came across wonderful people as well! Big shout out to the best team for following me in my ideas of video 😂 and for making these 3 years go by so quickly, thanks to all those daily laughs! Today marks my first work anniversary with Visibility Gurus This year, I've learned to focus on good intentions, positivity, and consistent policies. I've shifted my approach to recruitment, maintaining a candidate pool for quicker replacements in today's job market. I also believe in allowing employees to move on when they feel disconnected. Our actions and intentions attract the right people. Prioritizing policies and processes over non-essential tasks have led to a more balanced work life and a better workplace.
