This #collaboration will establish a framework for #jointresearch aimed at building #intellectualproperty in pioneering technology solutions and promoting #academiccollaboration for both #highereducation and projects. Focusing on #opportunities in the #mobilitysector through the exploration and development of breakthrough technologies, the scope of the collaboration will include joint R&D projects, academic and professional events, and #facilitating exchanges of researchers and students. Besides this, the collaboration also enables both parties to share #labfacilities, advise research students, obtain #cofunding, #publishpapers, and protect intellectual property. Designed to strengthen #digitalcapabilities in the country’s #talentpool, the agreement will enable greater #industryacademia collaboration between the two organizations, facilitating streamlined research efforts. The areas of research will encompass #softwaredevelopment with a focus on #data and #AI, electric mobility, as well as #transformativetechnologies such as #generativeAI. Innovation Simplified --------------------- Last week, as part of a course on Product Strategy with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani’s Work Integrated Learning Program, I was teaching a class on Innovation. The key message: - Innovation and Invention are different - The essence of most innovation: Take existing solutions from different domains, repackage them, and solve a problem in your domain in a better way. My favourite example to illustrate this is the robo-vacuum cleaner that became the rage during the pandemic. No new inventions here, but brilliant repackaging of existing inventions. If that is a way to think of innovation, then the question is: What is your source of inspiration? My tip to the cohort: Pursue a hobby. Not at the surface level, but go deep. For example, if you are a #Formula1 fan, try to understand what is happening on every possible aspect - historical context/ business dynamics/ people & leadership/ technology developments/ ....
