Breakout weekend in Kansas City! The Indy Drivers were red hot as we went 3-1! 🏎️🏁 It’s starting to feel as though we’re getting a lot more familiar with each other, different styles of game, personalities, communication styles, and a lot more. We barely lost our first match of the weekend which for some teams can really rattle players’ mindsets. We’ve planned, we’re excited, we feel good, and then it slips away. That isn’t fun. However, in these moments you really get to see what the team is made of. They bounced back big winning the remaining 3 matches against some very tough competition. It’s clear this pickleball season is going to come down to the wire. Any team can win on any given day. We feel we’re trending in the right direction and positioning ourselves for an exciting finish! One Team. Like in sports, unity and a sense of togetherness is needed to have business success. Everyone needs to be on the same page with the common goal of what success looks like. Our team may not have the record this season that we would have anticipated or wanted. But, what we do have is unity. Your business may not have the record setting year that you were hoping for. But how are your employees and coworkers handling that stress or possible “set back?” Your team cohesion matters in the long-run. “Are we united?” If we truly feel we are One Team, we may not win the championship, but we will give it one heck of an effort…together. We have a Hollywood Icon in the NPL! Award-winning actor Vince Vaughn has acquired a majority stake in the Coachella Valley Scorpions, one of 12 teams competing in our 50+ pickleball league, says Scorpions’ co-owner Kim Jagd. Well-known for his hit films "Swingers,” “Wedding Crashers,” “Old School,” and “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story,” among countless other favorites, Vaughn has added pickleball to his list of passions in recent years. “We are thrilled to have an icon like Vince Vaughn illustrate his passion for the game of pickleball by acquiring a majority stake in the Coachella Valley Scorpions,” said NPL CEO Paul Bamundo. “The league has experienced unprecedented growth over the first two seasons, and to have Vaughn’s investment in our league really underscores the surging interest of the sport in California and across the country.” The Scorpions’ co-owner Kim Jagd, who is also a member of the team, will remain with the team as a minority owner following the transaction.
