Our Wind Installation Vessel is 30% faster than traditional jack-up vessels, but how exactly? The key to its efficiency lies in the fact that the Wind Installation Vessel stays on-site for assembly while only the tugs and barges shuttle back and forth with the turbine components. There are four steps to the new methodology: 1. The Barge docks at our new on-location Wind Installation Vessel; 2. The locking system engages to stabilise the barge; 3. Tray with turbine components is elevated off the barge, and the locking system retracts, releasing the barge; 4. The tower, nacelle and blades are assembled using a standard method. Might be faster as the Jack up is not going back and forward, however what is the business case in time saved VS the extra cost of having multible vessels and what happens if the barge cannot go back and forward due to weather ? There could be a chance if the IV had the components with it, it could continue installation on the next TP, as I see it, the IV is more independent with the components on it

I am still baffled how you ended up choosing this solution over the WMXL design by Danish designer Logima which also features a barge feeder system where the WIV stays on-site, however with much greater cargo flexibility and volume per barge from what I can gather. Will be interesting seeing it in operation and if all interfaces work as anticipated.

Best of Luck in the design build and use of the systems - knowing how wild barges can act alongside pipe lay vessels it won’t take much to create a whole load of damage to vessel or barge or turbine parts

Interesting concept - the weather parameters for the barges transporting the components/racks to the installation vessel are they above 2mHs or less?

What’s the weather peramaters for the transition between barge and Jack up ??
