Raffeisenbank Kirschblütenrennen (1.2) Our man Red Walters was 16th out of 118 finishers at this 1.2 race of 169km from Wels to Wels in upper Austria near Linz in a peloton comprising 17 Conti teams and 7 U23 teams and @procyclingstats rated the start list quality at a score of 13. To put that into perspective; the recent Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey (2.Pro) featuring 12 Continental teams, received a start list quality score of 160. Out of those 12 Continental teams in Turkey, 2 had a bad showing with only 2 or 3 riders making it to the end of stage 8, and all of those teams paid the 1000€ to be on the ProSeries list. A payment which we’ve never seen a return on. However, the Tour of Turkey was broadcast on Eurosport, while our race in Austria was live on Youtube, which is great, but that doesn’t attract potential sponsors the same as real TV. With budget constraints in mind, is the 1000€ investment in the ProSeries list truly worthwhile?

Visma-Lease a Bike is already dominating… Is this a misfire or a taste of what we may expect from this season? If you've been watching the news in the past days, you can't help but notice that the finishing line pics were dominated by the characteristic yellow jerseys of Visma-Lease a Bike. On Saturday Jan Tratnik won the Omloop Het Neiuwsblad. On Sunday Wout van Aert took the Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. On Sunday Jonas Vingegaard won the O Gran Camiño, claiming the points and mountains jerseys as well. Clearly they began their spring classics campaign on a strong note. But those aren't really the big-name races. Those are still ahead of us. Can they deliver wins there too? It's hard to say, the competition at the really big races is going to be stiffer, including the likes of Tadej Pogacar and Mathieu van der Poel. Not to mention others. But truth be told, I don't think that those wins are key for them. For Vingegaard those are mostly training races for his Grand Tour campaign. Wout would certainly like to have some classics under his belt, though. Last year the Dutch team dominated the Grand Tours. Can they repeat the feat this year? Not if Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenpoel have anything to say. Tadej Pogacar is going to race the Giro and TdF, which begs the question if he's going to have the legs for TdF. That's a big question. Let's not forget that this is an Olympic year. And we have the World Championships in Switzerland. For some of the riders those will also be important points in the calendar. I know I've raised more questions than I've answered. "Marginal Gains - 1%" The fate of British Cycling changed one day in 2003. David Brailsford had been hired to put British Cycling on a new trajectory, who introduced the "aggregation of marginal gains,” which was the philosophy of searching for a tiny margin of improvement in everything you do. Brailsford and his team continued to find 1 percent improvements in overlooked and unexpected areas. Just five years after Brailsford took over, the British Cycling team dominated the road and track cycling events at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where they won an astounding 60 percent of the gold medals available. Lesson:- 1. Identify the area, where you need improvement. 2. Improve by marginal %age. 3. Be consistent. 4. Observe the performance. 5. Maintain patience. Improving by 1 percent isn’t particularly notable—sometimes it isn’t even noticeable—but it can be far more meaningful, especially in the long run. The difference a tiny improvement can make over time is astounding. For ex:- If you learn only 1 new word everyday, by the end of the month you will have 30 new words in your vocabulary. #Shashi #LnD #SIRCLE

Getting 1% better every day means making tiny improvements regularly. Dave Brailsford, coach of the British cycling team, called this idea "marginal gains." By improving small things like bike seats and nutrition by 1%, the team had the most successful run in cycling history. Focus on small, consistent changes in your daily routine, and over time, these will add up to significant improvements. This is kind of a lot to take in. (A) "USA" shows the relative cycling (down) between primes (right) of the 10s place when one considers non-integer parts of log_p (z). (B) "Deep Algae" and (C) "Film" show 100s place and 1000s place cycling, respectively. Why does the cycling align at the 1000s place? Arise Sir Mark Cavendish. A month after being knighted, Sir Mark Cavendish broke the Tour de France stage wins record yesterday as he took his 35th victory in cycling's greatest race to surpass the legendary Eddy Merckx with a sensational sprint finish in Saint Vulbas. Cavendish’s legacy is secure - he’s the greatest road sprinter the Tour, and sport, has seen. I personally admire the following strengths that Cavendish has, which can relate to business too… 1.   Dedication and Commitment = Longevity It’s rare for a sprinter to still be competing at 39 years old in his 18th year racing in the top-flight of professional cycling. 2.   Resilience It would have been very easy for Cavendish to have given up faced with adversity, but he battled on despite setbacks including a painful tooth abscess in 2010, a debilitating virus in 2017 and clinical depression in 2018. Last year, he suffered a race-ending crash on stage eight when he broke his collar bone. Surely time to call it a day? Not for Sir Mark!   3.   Intelligence Cavendish doesn’t just have supreme physical fitness and a burning desire to succeed, but also an innate ability to read a race and outsmart his competitors. 4.   The Sheer Will to Win Cavendish had jointly held the record for most Tour stage wins with Belgian, Merckx, since winning his 34th stage in 2021. Last year was supposed to be his final Tour, but the dream of ending his career with the outright Tour stage record motivated him to make another comeback. Cavendish is now immortalised in the race's history as the Tour's greatest ever stage winner. A true inspiration – never give up and dig deep to find a way to win. #inspiration #success #motivation
