Our latest paper summary by Charles-Schoeman, et al. “Impact of Upadacitinib on Laboratory Parameters and Related Adverse Events in Patients with RA: Integrated Data Up to 6.5 Years” was an integrated analysis of six Phase 3 RCTs from the SELECT programme. The authors report a dose-dependent relationship between upadacitinib and changes in laboratory parameters, but also concluded that upadacitinib had an acceptable safety profile. The tafasitamab plus lenalidomide regimen is well tolerated in Chinese population with good efficacy. The efficacy and safety data are consistent with the L-MIND study. Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that the full report of the 78th meeting of the WHO Expert Committee on Biological Standardization (ECBS), held on 16–19 October 2023, has now been published online in the WHO Technical Report Series (TRS). This report – TRS 1054 – is available free of charge on the WHO website at: https://lnkd.in/eTAxdtrM Highlights of the meeting included the adoption, on the advice of ECBS, of the WHO Guidelines on regulatory preparedness for the oversight of pandemic or other emergency use vaccines in importing countries. In addition, six new and five replacement WHO international reference standards were established and recommended for use, including standards for biotherapeutic products other than blood products, blood products and related substances, in vitro diagnostics and vaccines and related substances, as well as standards for use in high-throughput sequencing technologies and for use in public health emergencies. ECBS also endorsed seven proposals to establish future such materials. WHO wishes to express its thanks to everyone contributing to the important work of ECBS, the deliberations and outcomes of which are directly facilitating the increased global availability and accessibility of biological products of assured quality, safety and efficacy. Increasing global access to such products materially contributes to the stated WHO strategic goal of moving towards universal health coverage – one of the key targets of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Today is a crucial day for the Ukrainian Biobanking community! I am thrilled to share the news that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Procedure for the collection, storage and use of human biological samples for biomedical research. Finally, we have clearly articulated National regulations on biobanking. Many gratitudes to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine specialists Arman Kacharian, Vasyl Strilka, Maksym Chubak! And huge thanks to a group of enthusiasts of Ukrainian Association of Research Biobanks (Oleksii Gaidamak, Rostyslav Semikov, Ivan Mykhalchuk) and many Ukrainian and international experts who contributed significantly to the harmonization of biobanking practices in Ukraine according to international standards. #biobanking #research #medicine #regulations #Ukraine

ISPOR members responded to the European Medicines Agency’s reflection paper on the use of real-world data (RWD) in non-interventional studies to generate real-world evidence (RWE). ISPOR emphasized the importance and need for transparency in RWE studies, the importance of international harmonization of methods and data required, and clarification around study design/fit-for-purpose data and the amount of RWD coming from tokenization.
